I think we have a different definition of streaky then. To me Beltre has been streaky this year.

It is too early to tell with Choo, but when outliers occur in your 30s they very well may be a sign of things to come.

He definitely has become more injury prone it seems.

By your definition all hitters are streaky.

When I think of streaky hitters, I think of guys like Cruz who could carry an offense for 3 weeks and then strike out trying to hit off a tee for three weeks.

I am sure like anything else there are many different degrees of streakyness that a hitter can achieve. lol

Sometimes those streaks can be more or less noticeable simply due to how the rest of the team is hitting.

To me if the streak lasts a month or so and he has more than one a year or if they last close to half a season then that is streaky. I think how bad the streak is figures in as well.

I don't think Rougned has been streaky this year. He had a bad couple of weeks to start the season, but since then raised his average consistently. He tailed off before the suspension, but it wasn't prolonged or anything.

Choo's history has shown him to be the exact opposite of streaky.

I like Choo but he stays hurt to the extent his value is not worth the salary he's getting. That does in no way mean he isn't productive when on the field. In the same way I don't want to sign Desmond to a long contract and he fall into the category as Choo and Fielder. Two years would be great but he will not agree to that.

You always, always need starting pitching depth at AAA and/or AA.

Agree completely and Griffin will be back to enforce that thought. I like our rotation and their improvement just keeps making progress.
Darvish Hamels Lewis Holland Perez Griffin Ramos going forward is pretty strong going forward. However. we can't discount injuries.

Don't get me wrong, I want Nick Martinez and Chi Chi to develop into competent starting pitchers. But as of this typing, the Rangers do not have a pressing need for them to.

When a starter or two goes down to injury they need for one of those guys to be ready. It is much better for them to get ready now than wait until they are needed. As an organization I think there is always a need to have capable arms ready in the upper levels.

It is possible that the Bautista incident may have effected him. I think a little time off and he will be ok.

His average has actually dropped consistently since May 10th, high of .309 down to .262

Big contracts and older players name Choo and Fielder are risks we don't need to make any more at this time. IMO

I hear Joey Bats is a FA this upcoming off season.
