Did not get to watch yesterday but Gray has been a beast against us

Still Rangers look like a different team offensively
Hope it lasts. Only 4 games out

If we can just stay afloat and take 2 out of 3 from the Rays and Nationals we stay within striking distance.
The good news besides taking this series is that .Marcus is starting to hit

Called up Codi Huer from round rock. DFA’d Barnhart to make room on the 40 man.
I wondered if Codi was getting their attention. He has done well.

Roku today leaves me out. Keep me posted.
Roku is weird. i was out with the family for most of the game, came home went to Roku and was in time to see the last out in the top of the 8 and the first batter for the Rangers in the bottom of the inning. next thing i knew there was a pitcher change for the Cards, Roku went to what amounted to long self-commercial and came back to the game just before Smith hit his homer

I wish they would stop putting games on Roku and Amazon Prime.

From MLBTR:

Eovaldi has been utterly dominant in his age-35 campaign, with a 1.56 ERA through 12 starts this year. His last start on May 27 was abbreviated due to fatigue in his right triceps, and his departure from that game was initially labeled as precautionary. Losing him for any amount of time is a brutal blow to an already struggling Rangers club, but the good news is that manager Chris Young told reporters (including McFarland) that this IL stint is still largely out of precaution; Eovaldi isn’t dealing with any structural damage, but the team is just hoping to get the veteran additional time to heal up. His IL stint can be backdated to May 28, meaning that Eovaldi could return as soon as June 12 against the Twins. Eovaldi’s spot in the rotation is expected to be taken by Kumar Rocker, who Young suggested will come off the injured list on Wednesday.

I wonder if the Rangers are trying to trade Garcia, since he didn’t play in the last 3 games.

May be they are and trying to keep him from getting hurt the way he has been playing so wreckless.

The word is they are working with him to make adjustments and want him to sit until that is complete. It seems like he has made adjustments 4 or 5 times over the last couple of years.

From Shawn McFarland:

It started with Adolis García. The Rangers gave their slumping right fielder consecutive games off to begin the weekend series vs. his former team. Friday’s absence was labeled as a “mental break.” Saturday’s unveiled the start of a longer term plan to give the struggling slugger a low-pressure environment to rediscover his swing.

García hasn’t played since Wednesday vs. the Toronto Blue Jays due to a Thursday team off day and back-to-back games on the bench. If he doesn’t play in Sunday’s series finale he will have sat for five consecutive days before the start of the Rangers’ next road trip because of a scheduled Monday off day before the team starts a series vs. the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday.

Bochy said Saturday that the Rangers have developed a plan for García to follow in his downtime and are willing to give the 32-year-old as many days off as he needs to unearth his best form. The team’s health and depth — including the return of shortstop Corey Seager, the addition of outfielder Alejandro Osuna (.862 OPS in six games) and emergence of outfielder Sam Haggerty (.700 OPS in 17 games) — allows for it.

“I can’t tell you when he will be back in there,” Bochy said. “We just want to give him some time to make this adjustment and get on track. We know what an impact this guy can make on our club, but you have to have him right.”
