They need to sit down with Odor and have a serious talk with him. They need to tell him that he needs to start getting work in the OF because with his bat he needs to be a bench player. In the offseason he needs to get work in the OF and 1B. If Calhoun is able to play 2B he needs to become the starter. If Calhoun can't learn to play 2B, then Santana should have the job. Odor should not be a regular with his extremely prolonged slumps. Even if Odor has a great July and August he should still be considered a bench player.

Since I'm not seeing the Rangers play with any regularity. Do y'all think maybe Minor has hit the wall and really needs some rest?

Not sure anymore than the entire ream. Lot of injuries and pressure to achieve now that had not been expected. Also, the Odor thing has to effect the team. Guys likev Calhoun and Santana are trying to compete and have to wonder what they have to do.

Always good to be honest. Odor is beyond evaluation. Guzman is not and that is why we will see him for a while. His defense earns him time to become a good hitter.

Just the other day Woodward said Santana needed to play more and he has played less since.

Even with his defense, Guzman is going to have to hit a lot better eventually. Right now patience with him is completely different than having more patience with Odor. That won't last always though. If Guzman starts next season like this it might be time to start thinking about an upgrade.

The Rangers have been much more successful than we thought they would be. Sone of that could be due to the schedule, but some of it could be that they played better than expected. They let the success they had breed confidence which in turn allowed them to play above their talent level for awhile. With this losing streak they may not feel nearly as confident. Let's see if that causes them to come back down much closer to the level we thought they would play at, or if they can get past this fairly quickly and get back up to that higher level.

It will be interesting to watch as it unfolds. It could be the difference in being buyers or sellers. Either way, they have a lot to be proud of thus far.

Missed the game. Have to think there is going to have to be some reset button. This is Odors normal. No hitting coach but looks like a revamp is needed not tweaking. He has the same long swing overcommitting early so no room for pitch recognition which is a huge deficit for him.

Keeping him on the field so much sends a message to the rest of the team that they are not 100 percent going to compete

? Not sure what story other than we have gone 1/2 a season. This is not a slump, a little down time. He misses balls in the zone down the middle and chases pitches way outside. His skill set is currently lacking and the current locale and its coaching shows no evidence of a viable process. Have not heard that word with Odor. He did have one in spring but working hard and trying your best is not cutting it.

Definition of insanity. Doing the same thing again and again with negative results.
