Tragedy shadows Angels

I remember Bostock. He signed as a free agent. Had a terrible first month of the season and gave that months salary back.

When I remember Lymon Bostock being murdered it always makes me think of how different things would have been had he been allowed to sign here. Brad Corbett wanted to go after Bostock or Larry Hisle as free agents and made the mistake of announcing his intentions slightly too soon for Commishioner, Bowie Kuhn. Kuhn told Corbett he couldn't go after either of the two so we settled for Richie Zisk.

Joe Palumbo, who is pitching in AAA now, went 5 innings. He have up 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 10 and only giving up 1 unearned run.

"At 6-foot-3 and almost 200 pounds, Lora is tall, strong and what evaluators like to see in corner outfielders. At the plate, he has lots of raw power and excellent bat speed. The 16-year-old hits everything hard, high and often far to all fields. Like most players his age, Lora is still tweaking his swing, but he has good mechanics at the plate and a feel for the strike zone."

"On defense, he reads the ball well off the bat and has shown flashes of his solid, average arm strength. He displays proper mechanics in the outfield and has the potential to be an overall average defender in the future."

"He can also run – he’s been clocked at 6.7 seconds in the timed 60-yard run – and he’s a smart baserunner that does not clog up the bases."

"17 year old Bahamian shortstop Zion Bannister has also signed with Texas, per reports. He’s a switch hitter who attended high school in the United States for a while, but otherwise, I don’t know much about him."

It is being reported that the Rangers have to make a trade or trades to acquire more cap space before the international signings can be officially announced.

Yeah should have rested him more. Sorry to hear this as the guy deserved that start in the ASG. Probably won't make it and a non-Ranger will fill the bill at the game.
