That's why I can't buy into the idea that long at-bats aren't important.

They were much defensive at bats the whole time fouling off anything close forcing him to have throw pitch after pitch

I knew after Dodgers swept Milwaukee we were in big trouble this weekend. Said as much. Wasn't expecting to get swept but here we are.

Reminds of a time when after the game Wash said something about having to tip your cap to the guys on the other side. He had been saying that so often that Gerry Fraley dubbed them the cap tipping Rangers.

I agree completely about the last three, but we all had to realize that deGrom could be hurt quite often. The front office has to build a team considering him icing on the cake when he is healthy.

One important injury everyone forgets about is Odorizzi.

Mariners have a bunch of games against Royals, White Sox, and As the next 3 weeks...arguably the 3 worst teams in the AL.

They are going to pass us in the standings. We'll see how it goes for the last 15-20 games of the season. But right now considering all the offensive holes on this team I'd say we are in big trouble.

You said the Angels were going to pass us in the standings. Just going to keep ignoring that little gem, aren’t you?

And you should know how unpredictable baseball is. Mariners aren’t guaranteed anything. They could suffer injuries. They could go ice cold for their final 20 games. They could get swept by Oakland. And the Rangers could get Eovaldi back and snap out of their cold streak. Easily. Nothing is guaranteed, but you like to act as if it is.

Credit to the pitching staff today. Scherzer clearly didn’t have his stuff today, and LeClerc struggled mightily with every hitter. But they managed to minimize the damage and at least keep us within reach.
