I am not a Woodward fan and I would have liked to have Huff play more but as I mentioned days ago and now mentioned he does not look confident

Ultimately it is not on the coaches it is on the player. Anything else is excuse making. And yes most catchers split time so playing daily is not going to happen

He got a hit today so maybe that will help.
One thing we really have no clue about is how long Garver can only DH. Huff has had promise but he could have easily been overachieving for the moment. Hoping for improvement

I just want Huff and Heim to start catching those runners. They both get ran on with ease. Rangers have given up the most SB in the majors

Hard to have it all and a lot is on them and pitchers need to keep runners off and then hold them. They are praised for their framing and Heim is one of the better hitting guys in the league.
The blueprint for some teams is one lockdown defensive catcher and another who rakes at the paint. But yes their lack of nailing runners is amiss. That is why I was interested in Alfaro earlier. But our rebuild is surely not complete

I agree. Seems like our defense hurts is in way too many games. We also have a lot of trouble with the bullpen blowing leads. The back half of the rotation is really weak.

I definitely see a lack of holding runners by the pitchers, in fact I’ve said it out loud while watching the game many times. “He’s going to run if you don’t even acknowledge him!”
Maybe they need to drill their pitchers on that.
