Lol, in the Braves thread on another site, someone said that they need to series against lesser teams like us and Seattle, because opponents like the Dodgers and Phillies will be tough matchups.

The Phillies???
I hope we kick their ass tomorrow

From Jeff Wilson:

Bradford didn’t shy away from contact, but too many of his pitches ended up on Braves’ barrels. He said that he learned some things from pitching coach Mike Maddux, catcher Jonah Heim and fellow lefty Martin Perez.

“There’s a couple things I learned tonight about my delivery that I need to fix going forward,” said Bradford, who also suggested he might have been tipping his pitches.

From Evan Grant:

Later in the game, he wandered over to fellow finesse lefty Martín Pérez to talk about Pérez’s own debut. Pérez could relate. In 2012, he gave up four runs to Detroit in two-thirds of an inning vs. a loaded lineup.

“He said ‘We’re both lefties, we don’t have the velo to beat guys. We have to mix our fastball to all four quadrants of the strike zone.’ It was good stuff to hear.”

Great video here of Walker Jenkins signing autographs for kids before and after a big game. He seems, from all I have read, to be as good of a person as he is a baseball player. I sure hope it works out so the Rangers can draft him.

Talk about righting the ship. Tekoah Roby threw 29 pitches in the first inning even though he didn't give up a hit. Then he only threw a total of 34 pitches in the next 4 innings combined. He still hasn't given up a hit.

He ran into some trouble in the 7th after sitting in the dugout for quite awhile. He went 6.1 innings and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 8.

Just about the best outing of the year from a pitching prospect not named Bradford.

A possible long man in Duffy and maybe another setup man possibility in Funkhouser.
