I definitely wanted Wash fired after the 2011 WS

And that’s the bottom line here. You can look at our record or the ALCS appearance and say “great job, Bochy!” But I see a team that could have had an even much better record if not for the numerous inexplicable mistakes from their manager.

Bochy’s been just fine so far in the postseason. Only 1 complaint- that it took him multiple games to realize Garver should have been playing instead of Grossman. But overall, solid job.

But I tried to tell people as we were winning games and reaching World Series that Wash was actually hurting our performance. And despite Jackie Moore and Mike Maddux (yes, even the pitching coach) pleading with him to use Chavez instead of Cruz in that fateful 9th inning, he went with the lesser fielder and it cost them a World Series ring.

Not saying it will happen with Bochy. But a series of boneheaded moves tends to forecast more similar decisions in the future.
