I would love to hear your comparisons of Staubach and Aikman to a Qb in today's game.
I looked at your post and thought for sure you were referring to Tony. Not sure how Romo got thrown into this.
And defenses that could beat the shit out of you. I agree it impossible to camper players of old with those today, but Roger was the Captain and will always be #1 to me.And of course we could discuss talent level of the players and coaches Staubach,Aikman, and Romo have been with. How many hall of famers did Staubach play with or under? ..Landry,Stautner,Alworth,Ditka,Wright,Randy, Bob etc...
Aikman had Jimmy,Michael,EMMITT,Larry,Charles,Deion,etc.
Romo has had Witten ,Bill, Demarcus Dez,Murray

I doubt either one of them could have done better than the 3 Rings Aikman won. Aikman and Irvin could have had far better stats if the Cowboys threw the ball more, but they might not have won as much. The last couple of years, Romo has been good with running the ball more, but earlier in his career, every other play was an audible to a pass. I don't think Aikman gets enough credit for being team firstI never played pro football....Did you? So, I see the first "comment" as irrelevant. I was a fan of Roger Staubach.
I saw him play twice....He thought he was stifled by Landry's coaching.
My point was and is...it's tough to compare Roger,Troy, and Tony in their eras, teammates coaches and systems. All three have shown heroism. Romo played with cracked bones in the Washington game and brought his team back in the second half....He also cracked ribs and had a punctured lung in the 49er game at SF......Aikman was battered in the 49er playoff game.....
And I also contend that out of all three QBs, Romo has had the least help, both on offense, defense , head coaching and Garrett as former "O" coordinator.
But just imagine Romo or Staubach with the 90's COWBOYS
