And they have every right to vote. So tell me. What are they voting for as residents of a territory with no electoral votes? Nobody is depriving them the right to vote. They just have nothing to vote for in the POTUS election. Like I said, they get to vote in other federal elections because they have a legal say.

BTW: Churches are exempt from federal taxes too, what's your point? they vote, in fact due to a very recent SC ruling they get two votes if they incorporate. (RE: Corporations are people too)

Puerto Ricans can vote in federal elections. They can't vote in elections with no standing. As a resident of PR, a person can't vote in the selection of POTUS because PR has no electoral votes because they are not a state or D.C. Guess what. If I move to PR and become a resident, I no longer can vote in the election of the POTUS. PR can vote in primaries though...so yes, they do get to vote in federal elections.

So where would they move? Every state in the union gets more back than they put in. I am all for cutting federal spending...so let's do it.

Churches are churches are not for profit organizations, much like the NAACP. Neither pays taxes. Explain your last statement because churches cannot vote.

The interesting thing is........I'm not ready to give up on him because I believe that the country simply cannot afford to divide willingly or unwittingly over racism and racist ideals. It (racism) will lead of this nation's total destruction from within. We are already seeing how outside forces have used social media to influence the election of a nationalist or to be fair, someone with nationalistic ideals by energizing then inflaming those very same things.

Nah, IM just a realist. And I realize from experience that when "Americans" meet some one of Latin/Hispanic heritage, its assumed they or their parents were from Mexico until otherwise corrected. Most Americans who dont know any one from Puerto Rico assume its some where in Mexico or south America and dont ever realize these are American Citizens.

But yea we need that wall to prevent the hostile invasion from Mexico. After all at a rate of 200K per year, in about 500 years if us Americans stopped breeding right this second.. my god they will out number us.

From a Geographical standpoint, add them to the Florida or Texas voter roles. Yes I know that risks skewing these two historically Red States. But IM becoming of the opinion that the electoral college needs to be done with. Use the popular vote which would actually allow a TRUE independent a shot at becoming President. I think the real travesty of 2016 was the fact that we as a nation were basically force fed a choice between Clinton and Trump with no other option having a chance.

At a rate of 200k per year, THEY DO outnumber us...they are called liberals. Now those who cross the border want to bring the same failed policies of their home nation. They even want to be called _____-American.

Are some of the people who cross the border hostile? An economic invasion is possibly the worst type of invasion. Economics is how we won the Cold War.

Is it actually wrong to want to know who enters and exits the country? Do people have a legal right to enter this country at their own will? In theory, wouldn't a wall slow the traffic of people flowing into this country unaccounted? Wouldn't a wall funnellpeople to actual border crossing areas? In theory, wouldn't a wall pay for itself over time?

The electoral college prevents a small area of heavily populated region from dictating to the vast majority of regions in this country what to do. A true independent has zero shot because of monetary backing regardless of system we use, and I do agree that is a travesty.

Dude, have you forgotten HOW this country was formed?? Again, simple solution. abolish the electoral college. Rely on the popular vote and give EVERY American Citizen a right to vote in the most important process our country has. Get rid of the well this is my party and I have no choice but to vote for this guy mentality. Because at the ed of the day if they went off of the popular vote, neither Clinton or Trump would have won.

A true independent has zero shot because the system is designed to prevent a wild card. If you arent registered with a party, you are not even allowed to vote in the primaries.

But yes most people ASSUME based on what they have either

1. Experienced
2. In a lot more cases been told or taught.
