definitely helped us. hell I am cool with it being incentive driven above that. honestly think all contracts should be incentive driven instead of just given to players, but yes I understand that will never happen as a Norm.

Making the Case: The reason to get this done sooner than later hinges on D-Law’s need to get surgery to repair a torn labrum. Reports have suggested Lawrence is waiting to sign a contract, which means the longer he waits to have the surgery, the possibility looms that he could miss parts of the season. That alone should have the two sides working together to resolve this matter.

If we could get him around that price for 4 real years. Be great. Are we willing to pay him QB money long term though?
24 is pretty steep. 100+ contract most likely.

He has been a leader and good soldier. He didn't bitch about the tag last year. He had a great year. Personally, I just don't get not taking care of this guy

The Cowboys should be at 17/18M per season for 3 years with about 34M in guaranteed $$...if that won't do it, trade his ass to the colts for their 1st and one of their seconds, then trade up and draft a replacement. That cat Oliver would do nicely

I think this is one where waiting caused the problem. If they offered him 5 years and $85 million, $17 per, he takes it. Now we want him to take last year's money. I don't blame him

Or they could offer 5 years and $110 million, if they went with a lower base and made the last two years voidable at $25 million each and it would still be essentially 3/$60M, and then cut him or pay him the $25 when the cap is over $200M if he is still playing well. Either way, it shouldn't be that hard. They have to keep him with Gregory and Irving flaming out

If Dak can become a better passes then break the bank for him but he only has one more season to make that improvement and so far I haven't seen much improvement on that issue. Dak has a big heart and he is a full grown ass man who is hard to tackle but that can only get you so far as you must throw to win in this league. He is going to have weapons but if he can't stretch the field with them then we become what we were last year. Good, but not good enough.

Dak needs to be better, but we won 8 out of our last 10. Won the division. Won a playoff game and got our ass kicked by a better team in week 2 of the playoffs on the road because their Offense beat the shit out of our Defense and because their DL beat the shit out of our OL. Dak did his job the second half of the year and Dak wasn't the reason we didn't move on.

I'm not so sure about that. I wanted to draft Quinn and wanted to pursue him more than once when his availability came up, but I'm not so sure he is a starting caliber player in 2019. If we are going to pay him even half his salary and give up a pick I'd rather pass. There are free agents out there that won't cost a draft pick.
