Unlikely to win tonight, Scherzer just has the phillies number with a 1.29 ERA compared to a smidge over 4 ERA for the rest of MLB.

Exactly. At least they appear to be sound defensively. Lough's been doing a good job in left. One by one they'll be phased out over the next few months max, I assume, and that depends on how hot their potential replacements are.

Not sure, as much as I'd hope they would bring up prospects, the whole starting the clock on their rookie contracts might be an issue.

True. But I think if the pitching, both starting and relief, continues at a high level for a long period and the runs aren't coming, there'll be pressure to add more hitting. We need more hitting now. Guys like Alltherr, Asche would by next as they're ready. If that doesn't work, then Williams, probably later in the season. I guess they won't be rushing anyone just yet.
