No it doesn't. And the Saints produce plenty of yards for whoever is catching passes from Brees. His production says "I'm a young dude who wants to get overpaid."

Bress is a great QB, no question, but you still have to catch the ball. I hear ya, but production is production.

Whether he's a true WR1 or not, I don't blame the kid for wanting to be the main guy. But back to the point...at his age and RAC ability, imo he is worth a #1 pick. Djax with a larger route tree imo.

Would I offer it if I were PHI at 14?...no, not if I could land Davis or Williams. TN at 18? maybe. NE at 32?...yes.

He can want whatever he wants. But I don't want to pay a non-main guy main guy dollars. He's the type of guy that is nice to have on his rookie contract for a few years. The Saints are trying to find a sucker.

We're not going to agree on Cooks, (worth a 1st rd pick or not) but where we do appear to agree is he's not worth WR1 money.

The bottom line is he's a 1000 yd+ WR, you have to value that how it best works for your team.

*He's a 1000 yd+ WR in the most prolific passing attack in the league. One that was the most prolific before him and will be again after him.

Most of what anyone is trading for is the right to pay him about 15M.

I'm not buying "he's the by-product of the OFC" argument...systems do matter, but this ain't CFB, either you can produce or you can't.

How you target him, is how I expect him to produce. If you're going to target him 100 times a yr, he should be a 1000 yd player, if you target him 70 times a yr, he won't.

Again, the value to team should effect what you're willing to pay him.

Assets would be the more precise term. Pats might actually have more money IIRC but that's not really relevant in this trade.

oh true.. They most likely would want pieces instead of draft picks.. Rumors are the Pats made an offer but it was too low for the Saints

Yes, supposedly the 32nd pick. Seemed to get a lot of "fakenews" reactions and honestly I don't care, just it being out there is enough to shape the market some.

In realty the Patriots don't 'need' Cooks, they 'want him. Need and want are at opposite ends of the NFRL spectrum. One thing you know for sure, Bill Belichick will not overpay for him. Wrs are not a favorite toy of BB.
He'd rather have defensive players in his toy box.

Yeah, they wanted a 1st rounder with a higher pick I believe... Don't blame them. Either that or they really don't want him to go to the Patriots
