To be clear I still think the Eagles are the favorites. The Titans were more of a "the next most likely outcome" which is entirely possible. Then after that it's the Patriots just because they've demonstrated concrete interest and even an offer. We will see. TBH it's more interesting for me to discuss other teams than endlessly argue prospects, QB prospects, and trades.
Fair enough. I really hope BB doesn't give up more than # 32 if it comes down to it. Offense is not a problem. With BB and Payton being buddies this could be a smoke screen to drive up Cooks price?

To be honest I am a bit surprised Cooks is worth a 1st. I am not enamored with him. I can understand the Titans and Pats for contention reasons but the Eagles seems a little overwrought. Corey Davis or if they're lucky Mike Williams is a perfectly acceptable option in the meantime- and you'd have 5 cheap years vs 2 - an additional pick if executed correctly. Still think desperation wins out but I'd be really meh about it if I were an Eagles fan.

N.O. spent a 1st and 3rd round pick to get him. He's proved himself as a quality receiver so the Saints think he's worth more now.

That was for a player of 5 years control. Trading him teams would get two assuming the 5th year option is picked up. Being a proven player vs a college player helps but the years of control matter a lot here. You might be right about it being an additional 3rd that gets the deal home though. I think it'd be more of a 4th- but we will see.

Good point about the years of control. Add to it Cooks wants out or at least a different role. That also knocks down the cost IMHO.

This is just the Saints lying through the media so they can try to get a 1st round pick instead of the 2nd rounders the other teams have been offering.

He's not worth a first. No one should be that enamored with him.

Production is definitely worth a 1st rd pick, but if I'm PHI and could get either of the two guys you mentioned, I would use the pick on the rookie.

TN...they are looking for more immediate help and obviously have two 1st rounders to work with.

The only reason Philly is being mentioned is for the simple fact everyone and their cousins know they need wide out help! But that doesn't mean their going to mortgage this years draft on one wide out! They need a lot more then just one guy.....

If the Saints get a first for him, what should I do to you?

To me? You should call whichever team traded with you a sucker.

The Pats #32 trade was a lie "leaked" from the Saints. That's true, and I explained to you exactly why the Saints lied. They get 2nd round offers, and they are trying to find a sucker to give them a 1st.

His production says otherwise.

No it doesn't. And the Saints produce plenty of yards for whoever is catching passes from Brees. His production says "I'm a young dude who wants to get overpaid."

From what I am hearing apparently Cooks doesn't like Brees' armstrength and thinks he holds his numbers back. Lmao...
