Gallo is 6th in the AL in on-base % and 1st in walks (2nd overall). His strength right now is getting on base. Looking at that AL top 6, Gallo's batting average is 108 points lower than the closest guy, his slugging is 243 points lower, and his OPS is 271 points lower.

Locking him into batting third is just wasteful, because he's not producing with the bat as you would expect.

Arihara's numbers in Japan never impressed me. Comparing his numbers in Japan with some other pitchers who came here after pitching in Japan, shows that he was never going to have nearly as much success as some of the other guys. I am really glad they only signed him for two years.

Re Gallo. Move him to 2. He is no special case. He is still young so I think the book is still out on him. Our team really needs a player that is obviously better than him for his sake. Probably feeling pressure to be the top Ranger but that is not what Ian needed

Yes trade value is dropping but bet his cost to sign is as well. So unusual all these walks at the sacrifice of OPS

Looks like you might get your wish with Arihara but it looks like Yang will get the start I'm guessing because he's a bit more stretched out than Allard and King...

Righty Arihara (callus) may miss next start

Whether Kohei Arihara makes his next start is uncertain after the righty received in injection for a callus on his middle finger on his right hand on Sunday. Ranger manager Chris Woodward said Arihara could miss his next scheduled start on Wednesday against the Twins once the righty is reevaluated
