With the Cowboys drafting 10th tonight and the Rangers drafting 2nd in a few weeks, I started wondering when was the last time the two teams have an average pick of 6th combined or better. You have to go back to 1989 to find a year that their two picks combined were higher. That year the Cowboys selected first and took Aikman. The Rangers struck out with the fifth pick when they took Donald Harris. Frank Thomas went two picks later.
