losing a series to Oakland, Mariners...and dropping the first against the Angels

Juicing ? Sudden weight loss ?
At least we didn't stoop so low as to go down in order against Frieri.
You were the one that said even if every player on the roster was healthy it wouldn't matter. It's not true. Lance hasn't been healthy since 2011. I found a hole in your statement, and you went off on some red herring tangent when I did.
I never defended the signing. I said you were wrong by saying if the team was totally healthy it wouldn't change anything. He's not healthy now because he hasn't been healthy since 2011. What part of that don't you understand?! You can't just look at a player who is way over the hill and so broken down that he has trouble walking on bad knees and say "well last year doesn't count because he was injured". That's the whole point!! He's not just going to magically get healthy. You can't discount poor/lost seasons at the ends of players' careers. That's why old players retire- their bodies can't handle it anymore, they can't stay healthy, and their stats suffer. Berkman is well past that point and even admitted so before the season.
Defending the signing by saying "well, if he'd only been healthy..." is just nonsense.
I said he's been largely irrelevant for the last 5 seasons and gave the stats to back it up.
