By the way in case some will question me later on ... I think Rios had a good game last night. First two ABs were not helpful but when Colon was gone his later ABs including his HR kept the pressure on and his play in the field contributed to the win.

I have been critical of his play. To date he's been okay but not much different from replacement value. I hope last night marks a change. He's never going to be a Cruz power threat and defensively his numbers aren't much different from Cruz' numbers. Batting #6 if he's effective as an OBP machine there are going to be guys on board in front of him he can move around the bases ... and he sets the stage for those behind him.

Good game. Just don't want to see him as the once a week contributor like Murphy can tend to be.

I just heard the Rangers have won 21 straight games when they score 4 runs or more. Bet Yu would enjoy seeing a few of those 4+ today.

Rios is extremely streaky. Hopefully he's getting it going.

Martin has been sucking lately
At the plate and that is both true and temporary but certainly not in the field. His defense has been some of the best I've seen for a while and hasn't reached his full potential. Murphy sucks. Leo does not.

Yu is 1-5 this year when TEX has scored 2 or fewer runs.
The opposition line against him in those 6 games is ... .164 .250 .333 .583 w/2.73ERA

Yu is 9-0 this year when TEX has scored 6+ runs.
The opposition line against him in those 9 games is ... .195 .260 .327 .588 w/2.48ERA

Talk about consistency.
