As a Wisconsin fan, I love number seven. Who's our next transfer player going to be...

Also, it's probably fake, as what's the point in combining a bowl ban with a drop to a division without bowls?

If this picture is true. Holy. Crap.

It is not. It is not even within the rights of the NCAA to enforce 2, 7 and 9. 7 is especially faulty as it would simply spread competitive advantage to any school who could pick up the other players.

:L

Just wait until 9am tomorrow.

It won't be as shocking as a lot of people will want, but it will be devastating.

I have been told from a very reliable source that the punishment (in addition to the 30 million dollar fine) will include a multiple year bowl ban and mindblowing scholarship losses.

My prediction:

5 year bowl ban

15 scholarships lost a year, for 4-5 years

I also think the B1G will consider removing them.

Who would they replace them with, do you think? After setting up these divisions and this CCG, the B1G would need a 12th.

I expect at least a 3 year bowl ban. The Scholarships you have are what I expect as well. Any chance the NCAA says no TV games for Penn St for any amount of time? I know they did this to both Florida & SMU.

I saw this posted on an Iowa board earlier this evening. Some of it made sense while the rest made me go :twitch:

Not unless they shut it down (which they say that they won't) because it hurts the opponents too much. The PSU game is the marquee game for a lot of their OOC opponents.

what does this accomplish? if they won a bowl in that time does the losing team get the trophy? does it affect them financially wiping out their wins?

also who gets the $60M the victims? the government? the people who levied the ban?

@Proteautype: One of Penn State's punishments is a "vacation of wins" from 1998-2011. They didn't get the death penalty, they got the Maple Leafs penalty.

Victims get the money.

Vacating wins just ruins Paterno's records. The other team does not get the win in the case of "Vacating" wins.

ok. the one thing I wanted was the victims to get compensated for it. dont want the money go to some other program etc... thanks for the info.
