Imagine if the league actually embraced Caitlin Clark instead of trying to kick her out of the league

In a perfect world, that's exactly what would have happened.

But it's not a perfect world, so Caitlyn Clark gets to go through the same shit that Bird and Magic went through when they entered the NBA.

Ftr, the league itself (meaning the leagues office and ownership) embraced Clark a little too much. They put her and the Fever on too much too soon. If memory serves, the Fever had played something like 11 games in the first 3 or so weeks when every other team was at 7 or 8.

She was a rookie trying to learn the league while playing on what was the worst team in the league the previous year.

Imo, her not being on the Olympic team was the best thing that happened for her, her team and the league...she got some rest, she played much better after the Olympic break and got her team to the playoffs.

The players were the ones that didn't embrace her. Nor should they have been expected to, imo.

Then why are all coaches basically trying to get rid of her as well? Yes the league put the Fever on a pedestal too fast for sure but you can't fault Clark for that. (Not saying you are saying that).

Never watched a full game. Although this season for the first time I did watch some WNBA. Indiana Fever to see Clark.

I may not watch much but I want that league to be successful on their own. It's a good thing.

Seen a lot of games. Back when Lisa Leslie was on the Sparks, the youngest daughter got into basketball and I took her to a few games. They were fun. Much more of a "family oriented" vibe than NBA games. Got great seats too because the tickets were cheap.

Never heard of any coaches or even players trying to "get rid of her". Some, including coaches, said she didn't deserve all of the accolades coming in as she hadn't proven anything at the WNBA level yet (in other words, the same thing that happens to every "high profile" rookie in every sport).

The players were also pretty physical with her to "welcome her to the league"...which again, is pretty much what happens to every high profile rookie in every sport.

Definitely not Clarks fault. That was on the league. It led to her getting off to a slow start which fed some of the vitriol because initially, it looked like she was overhyped.

To her credit, she never complained, she adjusted to the level of competition and finished the season living up to the hype.

Btw, the WNBA was created by the NBA which means it's the NBA's league...of course the NBA was going to subsidize it and do everything it could to make it successful.

Hilarious that folks are upset about this...especially after not complaining about it for the past 25 years. lol
Yea a to this day the NBA actually owns over 60 percent of the league.

that’s what liberals and wasteful liberal institutions and organizations do. Spend other people’s money…. Until it runs out of course. If they can’t stand on their own let them fall. They have been around too long and always need subsidizing
I’ve always wanted to ask, do you actually watch any sports at all? Or do you find any possible way to shift it politically to fit your wheelhouse which is questionable at best.

It was a problem all 25 years and the idiots never actually cared about the wnba and now the corporate scumbags think there's money there so they use their mouth pieces to lie to the gullible. Like you.

Women's sports are amateur level. As they should be.

Why the fuck would you care if there's a women's professional sports league then? Is someone forcing you to support it? Your tax money going to the WNBA?
It’s just another He Man Wimmin Haters Club pile of bs. The cry of incels everywhere

Your dumbass outrage at the WNBA is hilarious.

Why you care so much, did you get cut by one of the teams back in the day?

I'm gonna let two prominent, famous, successful female athletes end this argument:

Those were great. Rousey knocked that aussie bitch out with a cold short response.

Nadal is great here too. That reporter should have taken notes.
