Zubrus at 3 years and 3.3 is good?

Elias at 5.5 for 3 years is good?

If Briere plays 60 games next season I'll be shocked.

And if the going rate for Clarkson right now on this board is anywhere from 3.5-5 mil a year then Briere at 4 is a ripoff.

Clarkson is gonna get over 6 a year considering these last 2 contracts handed out to Vinny and Briere.

Both are overpriced but I guess thats what you get even when the market is average. I can live with Zubs getting 3 a year. Thought Patty deserved around 4 to 4.5 but Lou def gave him a little extra for not testing free agency and wanting to get something done from the get go.

When Clarkson and Horton are the only in their prime players available , money like whats been spent shouldnt have been spent on aging stars with a recent injury history.

I cant see more then 15 goals from Briere..and that might be pushing it considering I dont think he plays the full season. Patty will def score over 15. Likely closer to 25.

Vinny will put up the numbers but if its not making a team that much better then it really doesnt matter..He wont score the 35 goals needed for the Flyers to be a top team in the East. He's jumping into the same situation as he was in Tampa..high scoring offense with lots of goals against.

Change for the sake of change has always worked out really well for Philly. maybe you'd rather overhaul the roster every year and not win a cup in 30+ years?

I agree the offense needs upgraded and that we spent a mil a year too much on Patty, but thinking Briere and Vinny are going to recapture their past glory for even more money is a stretch as well.

There's simply not a lot out there, I'd rather keep some cap room for next season instead of overpaying for a guy like Horton just to sign someone. Best options would be via trade, ho knows what Lou could be working on there?? Hell, nobody saw the Schneider deal coming.

Ive seen some people talk about extending Henrique if were not able to sign a top FA.

I wouldnt be opposed to that.

Not sure if that would count against the cap for this season or next season though since he's signed for this year already.

If we can get any mixture of Clowe , Weiss and Ryder and resign Zidlicky I'll be happy about that

Made teh finals last year, injuries to Kovy and Marty killed us this year. We need to add another scorer, but the team is not as bad or far off as you always like to make it out to be.

Mikhail Grabovski is a guy with speed that can score that was bought out by the Leafs. He'll probably be pricey but he's worth a look.

Clowe seems to be all but a done deal. Again, if the price is right on that I don't mind that signing. He's basically Clarkson only, hopefully, much cheaper.

Also, about Grabovski, apparently he was badly misused in Toronto, that was one of the main reasons he was bought out.
