Is Punter really a position of need?
Yes, unfortunately.
We have the worst rated punter in the league and
the second worse rated punter in the league.
That is a problem!

I don't see us using a 5th for a punter but the suggested player is really good!
If you don't want to use a 5th for a punter,
you could get this guy in the 6th or 7th or even wait for a UDFA?

And my thought is Bailey will be back and healthy

Sailey and Jack Jones were suspended and Bill used the two spots.

The week after the season ended, he met with both and reinstated both.

Cutting Bailey would cost because he's got some guaranteed money.

He sucked because he had an injured hip and leg. He wanted to play in the last game and must have pissed off BB because he was suspended.

Both are on the official roster.
The "guaranteed money" would be offset by the suspension.
The suspension was about not rehabbing enough to get back on the field.
Bailey had pretty much decided to take the rest of the year off.....

One could certainly hope - but his performance had already slipped before the injury!
Or because of the injury, if its a back I suspect it had been hurting him before he reported it.

It used to be Rutgers meant a near lock to join the Pats

It is certainly reasonable to think he was injured prior. To go from being one of the best punters in the league to the absolute worst is significant.
If Bailey is still hurt this does make sense

With the 2nd pick in the 4th round #117, I will finally go WR and select A.T. Perry, WR, Wake Forrest. Here is that big WR we lack.
Strengths:
  • He’s very good in contested-catch situations, using his frame effectively to make plays facing the quarterback. Perry also shows a knack for high-pointing the ball, consistently outmuscling defensive backs.
  • Has the strong hands any NFL wide receiver coach and quarterback would covet. Tracks the deep ball over either shoulder and brings in passes fluidly without breaking stride downfield.
  • He is a natural playmaker, at his best with the ball in his hands.
  • He accelerates quickly and possesses good straight-line speed. He shows solid ball-tracking skills and body control downfield, able to adjust to the off-target throw.
  • Tracks the ball well downfield and shows good ball skills, including the ability to go up and high-point it in contested-catch situations.
  • Thriving on physicality, he’s a contested-catch specialist with a knack for warding off defenders while the ball is in the air. Perry has strong hands and the ability to wrestle the ball away from defenders.
Weakness:
  • Perry lacks suddenness as a route runner, and that is a potential issue at the next level.
  • Perry has constantly ran a limited route tree.
  • He’ll be coming to the NFL from a wide-open spread offense in which Perry ran a limited route tree.

What does that mean suddenness? And a limited route tree, wouldn't that be based on the scheme they ran at Wake Forest? You mention big and I agree I would like a big strong WR who will fight for contested balls.

6'5" 205 he is big and I suspect packing on 5 lbs of muscle is a real possibility.

I am all about a WR later if it means we score one of the top 4 OTs.

Picky, picky, picky.

I saw him a couple of times and he's a tough SOB. He had limited routes because his QB wasn't the the greatest arm.

I like him and he should be hanging around for a while and could be available on the third day.

Not sure what suddness is. This was a draft profile someone did.

Exactly at WF his route tree was limited and he still put up good numbers. 81 catches, over 1000 yds and 11 TDs. Didn't get a lot of playing time his first two years. But with over 180 catches he had zero fumbles.

He was also one of the players the Pats coaches spent time with at the Shrine Bowl. I think if we get him at 117 that would be a steal.

Sounds a lot like N'Keal Harry?

I wouldn’t be upset with a 4th round pick on him. Love the strong hands and will come down with most contested throws. But that also suggests he can’t get open and has to make those great catches. Watched a video of him on YouTube. He’s good.

Will it be even harder to get open in the NFL? Guaranteed!

Sorry for the delay fellas. Hectic day at work. If someone would like to post a player… by all means do it. I can’t for another 3 hours or so.
