The legacy of RR here in DC is a lot of hype and little production . he was brought here to change the culture but in fact he did little to change it .

lets start with his FO moves . he hired wright (a disaster ) as shown by the name change fiasco , the sean taylor appreciation day and ring of honor ceremony and that half ass statue unveiling. wright promised fan input but the choice was made before any fan feedback . just a series of deceit and lies . the logo had the wrong superbowl dates and the uniforms are bush league

next he brought in mayhew and hurney( from his losing panther regime ) and neither man did his job well. i will go through the drafts they had and how they ignored the fact that CY didnt want to play here and yet drafted him anyway . now i will grant you they did it under the orders of RR and essentially had no real power

i will never give RR a pass for choosing the commanders name as he bent the knee to wokeness and make no mistake he chose it and could have cared less what the fans , his customers if you will wanted . he oversaw some of the worst attendance records in franchise history and now our stadium is little more then an extended home game for the visiting team as the NFL mocks our team and fan base . he hired the wrong people and stuck with cronies from the losing panther regime . the team has quit on him and this snake oil salesman has alienated the leaders of this football team with a product that is unwatchable . he fined JDR for his political beliefs while shoving wokism down our throats with the name change and poor excuses as to why we couldnt keep our heritage since the name could stand . it was the act of a coward .

now lets take a look at his drafts
2020 1st round chase young , he passed on 2 qbs tua and herbert for a guy who didnt want to play here and didnt get a 5th yr option picked up
3rd round , AG actually a pretty good player for us most of his career here but he wont be back
4th round charles a bust who cant stay healthy and has failed as a starter when given the chance
4th AGG , bust who retired after 2 seasons of urine
5th ismail out of the NFL a poor guy to take a flier on
5th hudson flashes every once in awhile but career ST player
7th Curl maybe his best draft pick of his reign
7th JSW i would sy a good pick as well

2021
1st round jamin davis , overdrafted player who wont get a 5th yr option
2nd cosmi drafted as an OT and moved to OG probably the least shitiest of the o/lineman
3rd BSJand dyami brown , both appear to be busts particularly brown
4th bates decent player
5th Defo decent player but injury prone
6th cheese dick worst pick of his career and he traded up for him
7th WBK , out of league , toney suspended for gambling career over , milne slow BU slot and crappy PR , a hanger on type
2022
dotson 1st up and down wr trending towards not getting a 5th year but that could change
2nd mathis so far a huge injury prone bust
3rd brob , very good pick
4th butler good BU safety so far
5th turner , has promise but little production to show for it
5th howell maybe his best pick along with curl
7th paul not ready for prime time as a starter , a BU as his draft position indicates
7th holmes good ST player not sure why he isnt getting more time at CB
2023
1st EF huge disappointment so far , simply not big enough
2nd martin huge reach in round 2 and we passed on better player
3rd stromberg IR
4th daniel IR reach
5th henry decent pick but we traded up for him
6th rod good pick perhaps the most productive pick of this draft
7th jones actually has promise as a BU DE

overall his drafts are composed of reaches with a smattering of good late round choices with some questionable scouting and lack of identifying needs, making the right pick to fill a need and a propensity to act like he is the smartest guy in the room
next post FA and trades

CY poor return
this is a statement on poor scouting and bargain basement shopping . now we now know he could have resigned trent williams if he offered more money and he let BS walk because he didnt want to pay thats 2 all pro lineman
a major flaw he should know about

philosophy
his cronyism to his panther pals and his inflexibilty are his downfall . his time management , use of analytics are pedestrian nor is his sense of timing . . his teams routinely are unprepared and his adjustments are non existent . he airs out his dirty laundry with his player and coaches often undermining them in the process . his coach centric model is a joke with him having little accountability or any checks and balances

overall he has set this franchise back most likely 1/2 a decade unless the new regime makes every choice perfectly

I thought the BS thing was the Jags offered him crazy money, they had more cap room at the time. Didn't MM say they tried to resign BS? But got outbid? OR BS didnt want to come back here.

I dont know Dean, you supported this front office from the get go and ignored common sense. You supported this clown show and have to live with the results. You were excited for Rivera to be the GM.

You were wrong.

It all basically comes down to something that I have been debating with you guys about for years... how this team is built!

Trading down in the draft generally nets you a lesser player and with BPA off of the board, you have to hope that these lesser players become antithetical to what they have been. Even when you keep your high-draft pick and select a player with above-average talent, mishandling him (or them) renders him/them to be less than he/they can be.

If you're unwilling to pay in free agency top dollar for top talent then you're likely to overpay for aging/past prime or lesser talents.

In either case, your team will NOT have elite, game-changers on board and you're asking good but average players to consistently deliver above their abilities. A roster full of average players will net average results every time, mismanaging top-flight and elite players results in average play as well. When you have both average players and average coaching/management the results are... well...

I don't believe that Rivera has now or had then, any interest in offensive football. The team and organizational mishandling of Haskins was damned near criminal and Rivera's perspective on the QB position is evidenced by his subsequent manning of the position with has-beens and journeymen. He clearly didn't want to develop a QB and it appears as if he was hell-bent on replicating what he had in Carolina. So, to answer your question directly, yes, but only to the extent that it further accelerated Haskins's failure and supported his bend toward establishing a defensive team.

ok, I also thought it had a role being Synder's guy drafted in the first round. Being a defensive coach, no one should have been surprised when he went Young. He did give Haskins a shot in starting. If he was forced to, we will never know.

NO! Good coaches put their players in the best position to win, not properly developing Haskins was the opposite of that. Besides, I'm a bit tired of that lame excuse... If a GM had selected a player, the job of the coach was/is to make that player work in his system. What difference does it make that Snyder (if true) forced that pick? They got him, and the job was to make the most out of that pick, NOT bitch and moan about him "not being his guy" or that the owner wanted him for whatever reason. If a new head coach is hired, his job is to make the best out of what he has, and not bitch and moan about what he doesn't have.

ok, I also thought it had a role being Synder's guy drafted in the first round. Being a defensive coach, no one should have been surprised when he went Young. He did give Haskins a shot in starting. If he was forced to, we will never know.
i'm convinced this guy will never get it. I do wonder if most of yall know this and just jack with him to keep the post counts up.
