Prospect of the day...a day 2 pick. Cornerback Kelee Ringo.

Really, I know nothing about him short of what I have read while trying to do some research on finding a pick for today.

Big for the position at 6'2" and as heavy as 215 lbs. Fast at a projected 4.35 40.

The part that jumped out to me was
At his best in man coverage, moving down to guard tight ends and some bigger slot receivers.

My mind instantly though Travis Kelce.

He is a good prospect but we have other needs and better choices.
I have pondered him many times! He may go round #1

I am not against drafting a WR early, but am skeptical.

It seems fair to say at this point that the Pats are not good at drafting talented WR's early. I'd rather sign a few in the later rounds and maybe try to sign somebody rather than use a pick early. It just doesn't see to ever work out in the early rounds.

If you could get a shutdown corner in the first round you wouldn't take him based on other needs?

Not saying Ringo is a shut down corner. Just wondering if you are more focused on "need" versus a superb talent at a position that is not quite as glaring in the need department.

There was a reason I dismissed him from my picks. Don't honestly recall what it was.

I love Ringo. My favorite CB in the draft. Great size and is fast. He covered Quinten Johnston from TCU( considered the best college wr) in the National Championship Game and held him to 1 catch for 4 yards. Could probably trade back 10 spots and probably still get him.

Listen to ourselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what we all seem to be saying, Day two is a gold mine.

That being said, trade the #14 for a 2nd and 3rd. That will give BB 2 2nds and 4 3rds wit a compensatory. They both HAVE to be in the top 10m in both rounds. 4 of the 6 will start. IF, big IF, he can get McGlinchey or Taylor.

Stephon Diggs. Round 5.
Marques Colston. Round 7.
Joe Horn. Round 5.
Wes Welker. Undrafted.
Julian Edelman. Round 7.

Plenty in the third a fourth round as well. But I get your point. for me 2nd and third round is where I would look.

Some of those listed are not #1s. But I get that on occasion you can find a diamond in the rough more often than not you do not

ANd Tom Brady why do people leave that out of the equation?

And? My point is perhaps BB puts a stronger focus on having multiple “good” receivers plus depth rather than paying up for one super star if he can’t find one for the right price. Didn’t we get Moss for a song and a dance and then immediately trade him once he mentioned a new contract to the media?

The early dynasty had Branch and Brown. The second dynasty had Edelman and Amendola.

Obviously a reliable and mature QB is required to employee this philosophy as we have seen.

Correct that dynamic worked when you had the greatest QB to ever play the game. TB12 made WRs better not vice verce. They did not bring BOB in to stick to BBs antiquated methods.

The GOAT had multiple number ones, two top TE’s, a stellar running game, a solid line, and a top defense, and only made it to the SB once in three years in TB. Yet he won 6 Super Bowls in NE with a bunch of nobody’s.

I’m not sure what my point is. Just saying

I'm sitting here trying to figure who's turn today it is and why they have not posted. It's me??????

Tyler Scott
  • Junior Olympic sprinter with electric top-end speed.
  • Ten of 14 career touchdowns went for 30-plus yards.
  • Very fluid and athletic in his movements.
  • Able to accelerate to top speed very quickly.
  • Drives and leverages coverage away from stem points.
  • Former high school running back with excellent run-after-catch talent.
  • Offers dynamic versatility due to his skill set.
  • Punt return potential waiting to be cultivated.
  • Keeps pedal floored while turning to track the deep ball.

Wish Bill could sign UDFA WR as well as he does CBs.
I heard a long time ago that a Corner Back was a converted Wide Receiver who couldn't catch.
So an UDFA WR is a WR that can't catch...and still doesn't know it.
