Pretty much what right-on.
Not excited about Josh.

Haven't heard any rumors on him going to other teams. Apparently the dislike for him is throughout the league. Heard on MLB network that he is sticking to his demand of 4 years 80 million contract.Free-agent outfielder Jose Bautista isn't well-liked by Texas Rangers players and fans, but that didn't stop his agent from giving the team a call.
According to the Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Baustista's agent, Jay Alou, reached out to the Rangers about the slugger. A baseball source told Wilson that the conversations didn't go anywhere and aren't expected to advance.
The Rangers and their fans didn't exactly see Bautista's bat flip during Game 5 of the 2015 AL Division Series in a favorable light. Texas second baseman Rougned Odor punched Bautista in the face when the the Blue Jays visited the Rangers this past May. In this year's ALDS, a chorus of boos greeted Bautista at Globe Life Park.
Texas doesn't have any interest in Bautista because of his history with the team as well as his poor reputation among fans and players, Wilson writes. It's unlikely that the Rangers would welcome Bautista into their clubhouse, although his bat would provide pop in the team's lineup.
The Rangers aren't the first team to reject Bautista for off-field reasons. Last week, Baltimore Orioles GM Dan Duquette said he told Bautista's agent that the O's weren't interested in the outfielder because "our fans don't like him."
ESPN's Jim Bowden projects that Bautista, 36, will sign a three-year, $48 million deal this offseason. Bowden does not list the Rangers as one of the outfielder's best fits.

Joey you know when you play FB you still have to hit. Which you have showed, you are unable to do at the major league level.Rangers looking at options for first base
Rua has more experience at first base than either of the more touted prospects. He played 31 games there this past season, bringing his big league total to 44. Profar, meanwhile, surprised the baseball world when, after having never played the position at any level, started a game at first base after only a handful of workouts (he would eventually play 17 games at the position). Gallo looks the part more than than the other two, but he has played as many MLB games at first base as he has in center field (just one, though he has played 40 games at the position at Triple-A).
It's an opportunity for all three, should they still be Rangers come February.
"It's very exciting," Gallo said with a nod. "In years past, I really didn't have a chance out of Spring Training to make the team, but this year, I really do have a real chance to make it, so ... I think it might be more exciting, just knowing that you have a real opportunity to make the team."
Rua concurred, giving credit to his friends and competitors.
"We have a number of guys that could fill that role, and all of us are ultra-competitive. ... Pro and Joey are two of the closer guys on the team that I hang out with, I talk to, I stay in touch with in the offseason, and it's exciting for all of us to have that opportunity. ... We can joke around with each other when we're doing drills and make fun of each other; we all know how we all are. We're all very competitive and all want to be everyday players one day, but we're all at this point in our careers, willing to help the team in whatever way we can."
We can get our man Matt Purke now. He has been DFAed.
I like both Ruan and Profar being on our 25 man roster but don't see either handling the load at 1st base for a whole season even if they were to split it evenly at 81. I like the plus they both bring with their bats and their ability to contribute at multiple positions giving our regulars needed days off. Gallo is one dimensional right now being a good position player but a total miss at the plateRangers looking at options for first base

No argument here. Very gracious and hardworker.
Dutch. A very gracious stand up guy
Wouldn't it be ironic if we had to give up prospects to trade for him in July if we are in contention? I think that is exactly what Chicago has in mind for him. I think they are hoping he rebounds enough to trade away at the deadline and pick up some good prospects. No argument here. Very gracious and hardworker.

If we would have kept him, as in picking up his option, then I doubt we would trade away a pitcher who was doing well with another option left to pick up.Or it could have been the other way around if we kept Dutch and ChiSox signed Cashner. Guess you would have to flip your postscript then. Opinions hmmm
Maybe Don will come around on our 2B....
