They're not spending more that I know of. Rhua and Profar will especially if we don't get reliable pitching. Don't count on much if pitching doesn't develop.

in my book Rua and Profar are bench players and you going to depend on them over a 162 game season? 30 or 40 games each at 1st would be stretching it and i think we need Profar as our super utility player to give Beltre, Andrus and Odor breaks and Rua gives us a player to cover LF and 1st base on a backup basis.

It will depend on the medicals JD sees and the contract Ross is willing to take. Doubt he gets 8 figures from anyone coming off surgery, but when he's right, he can pitch

and he rankings 10th among 2nd basemen in 2016 and he is only 21 and i think he will only get better

And he's led the league in errors for 2 straight years. You can afford a non-gold-glove in the OF easier than at 2nd base.

But I think, if he was approached with a move to 2nd, he'd be on board. Maybe wishful thinking, but I feel pretty confident he doesn't want to become a "super utility player" regardless of what he did last year.

he is not going to unseat Andrus and somehow i don't see the Rangers wanting to mess with Odor so unless the Rangers find a trade partner his strong point might to be show his versitility and hopefora trade

I was for sure. But seeing where we're at and how little he got, and most importantly for one year, I would have welcomed him back for 2017.

I'm not suggesting anything. Just pointing out that Profar wants to be an everyday SS, so the "super utility" role is not one he's going to readily embrace. And I'm expressing my doubts that using him as a super utility player will make him appealing to teams looking for an every day SS.

i understand that but his value isn't high right now and he isn't going unseat either of them so he needs to use the time when he is on the field next season to make other teams interested in him

you aren't being one and i agree but somethings like Profar's useage ain't going change much. SD is interested in Alberto so trade him for Travis Jankowski: OF answered, Gomez in LF, Jankowski in CF and Mazara in RF. Choo at DH.
