Yeah, I agree. I think one of him and Odor will either be traded or one of them will be starting in the OF. It really depends on what else they are able to accomplish. If they are able to land Rich Hill and Gomez then that will probably be the end of the major spending and we will make do with Odor, Profar and Rua starting at some combination of 1B, 2B, and COF.

Really think CF is key spot to fill. If we plattoon Rua and a LHB at 1B that could work well. Get another SP. would be surprised if Odor or Profar got to COF but not stunned Def agree $ spent has an effect as you mention above

If Hambone has anything left at all which is a huge longshot then maybe he is your 1B plattoon

We don't need to waste Profar another season. He needs to start and play or trade him.

Unfortunately for us, Profar's value is very low.

But if it were me, I'd move him to 2nd and Odor to LF.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Spike Owen is returning to the minor leagues as a manager in the Texas Rangers' organization after filling in as the interim third base coach for the AL West champions while Tony Beasley went through cancer treatments this year.

Beasley is expected to be back full time with the Rangers next season.

The Rangers said Thursday that Owen will manage at Low-A Hickory in the South Atlantic League. He was at High-A High Desert in 2015 and was set to manage Hickory last season before Beasley was diagnosed with rectal cancer before spring training.

Dragmire is a minor league relief pitcher with bad numbers the past 2 seasons. Surely he is a candidate to get released once someone worthy of a 40 man roster spot becomes available.

The reason I am for locking him up long term is that we have never been able to sign a pitcher of his ilk on the open market. This is our best chance ever of signing someone like him.

I can see your logic of trading him, but if we do we might as well trade off Beltre and Hamels as well.

I just meant if we trade Darvish we might as well trade a few more because we won't be going anywhere without him. I don't want to trade Darvish myself.

If we are at the break looking bad then all expiring contracts are open game. But until then we play it out. I would love to resign Darvish but he may have it in his mind to seek free agency. I think a WS could change a lot of players thought process
