It will depend on Rotation. If we trade for a good #3 then I think we will go all out for Gomez or maybe Hutch. Otherwise we probably will be status quo. Pitching will dictate the direction we go imo.

Just what we need in CF. A dumb player, who takes bad routes to the ball, with a weak bat and no arm.

Have to think we would get a guy like Stubbs over DDJ but my guess is we will have a legit CF or a convert like last year. Really think Choo is at DH a majority of the time. He has not proven durable.

JD has stated we are looking for OF and SP not DH or 1B at this point. Rua has a lot of pop in his bat. He is definitely in play for appearances this year

Sometime you have to look beyond the forest or the trees will get in your way. That's what NY did and we may have to also because 2017 does not look promising.

I think Tepid's comments about those possible trade chips were for mid season if we ate 5 or more games back.

If Hamels doesn't bounce back and we start to slip some we might as well retool. Face it, we are going to need some surprise performances from a few guys to compete in 2017.

I was in favor of doing this a few years back and wanted to look forward to 2017 with Brinson, Mazara, Williams, Gallo, Profar, Alfaro, and pitchers like Ortiz as well as prospects we could get for Beltre and Kinsler. That is hard for a GM to do though even if it was the right thing to do. As much as I wanted it I found it hard to blame JD too much for not doing it. We would have missed out on losing to the Blue Jays the past couple of seasons, but we would be set for the next 5 to 7 years.

It may be time to consider that possibility again.
