Murph and I have been on the World Series Thread last day or so. Lots of dumb and bs there.

I tend to spend most of this time of year, on the main cowboys football board or in the general nfl boards. Seeing as how the Rangers haven't been able to get out of the 1st the past couple years. You're right about there being lots of late to understand over on the WS thread however, heck lots of places on this site, most of the time :D

Rangers Andrus, Gallo shut down up to six weeks

Elvis Andrus and Joey Gallo are expected to at full strength well before the Texas Rangers open spring training next year, but each could be shut down for at least the next six weeks.

Andrus underwent surgery Tuesday for a sports hernia and will need six weeks to recover, the Rangers said in a release sent at dinnertime. General manager Jon Daniels later said that the injury developed gradually throughout the season before becoming severe enough for surgery.

Despite playing at less than full strength, the shortstop finished with a .302 batting average for the first .300 season of his career. He is expected to participate in the Rangers’ winter program in January.

Gallo injured his left hamstring last week running to first base in only his third game for Magallanes in the Venezuelan Winter League. Gallo returned to Arlington on Monday for an MRI exam that showed a Grade 2 strain that will shut him down four to six weeks.

Gallo, a candidate to be the Rangers’ starting first baseman in 2017, will not return to Venezuela once he’s healthy.

How can you consider Gallo a candidate for 1B, after the year he had in the majors.

It's like saying Gary Johnson is a candidate for president when in reality he is but isn't.

I think Grant and some of the other media expect the Rangers to go cheap at 1B.

I rather see Profar at first or Beltre at first and Profar at third.
I would rather see Profar at 2B and Odor in the OF. If they have to go cheap at 1B I would go with Rua.

Beltre isn't going anywhere other than 3B in 2017 I don't think.

I wonder if Nicholas can play first.

We could move Odor and his 30+ HR to 1B, but I would rather see him move to the OF.

So do you see a OF of Odor in left, Gomez in CF (?) and Mazara in right?

And I agree with ya on Beltre for 2017, and I like the idea of this OF, which I think is what you're thinking. Isn't it?

This tells me that they are not going after anyone in Rule 5. Also insurance if we move guys for pitching. Likely not on 25
