Rangers' Andrew Cashner: Will play catch again Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cashner (biceps) is scheduled to play catch from 120 feet for the second consecutive day Saturday, but he has no firm timetable to return to a mound, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Until he's throwing from a mound again, it will be difficult to determine whether Cashner is in danger of missing time once the regular season begins. For now, he's still expected to open the year as a part of the Texas rotation.

Rangers' Sam Dyson: No issues after simulated game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dyson (wrist) felt good Friday after throwing a simulated inning against minor league hitters Thursday, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Dyson is expected to make one spring appearance before leaving for the World Baseball Classic on Monday. Given that he's still scheduled to represent Team USA in the tournament, it appears as though Dyson's wrist won't be an issue once the regular season gets underway in April.

Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Expects to play in Cactus League games this week
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Andrus (groin) said Sunday that he expects to make his Cactus League debut at some point during the week, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Andrus has been taking it easy in camp while recovering from November sports hernia surgery, but the Rangers don't seem to fear that the shortstop is at risk of missing the start of the season. He's steadily increased his activities since spring training opened, and after doing some more running, hitting and fielding drills in the next couple of days, he should be ready to see some game action.

Not so surprising, but the Rangers sent Faulkner, Sadzeck and Mendez down today.

The Surprise Five from Monday at Rangers camp

“That might be one of the more uninspiring games we’ve played in spring training, yes,” Banister said. “We give up 21 base runners in eight innings on nine walks [including] two hit batters, 10 hits and two errors. Yeah, I would say that’s a sloppy baseball game. We’ve got to be better than that.”

I'm starting to wonder if Cole just isn't that good anymore based on his finish last year, his start in the playoffs, and his spring so far.

I hope the guy proves me wrong tho.
