mariners rotation needs

paxton..LHP...i cant think of any way the mariners would trade him......at this time

the ..FAT ..hole...in the rotation...RHP

gonzales...LHP......see paxton discription

leake.....RHP..........he is really not that expensive...as pitchers go..and is a really good guy to have in the #4 spot
chances are..... if they dont trade him now...then if they are not in position to go to the playoffs in late july..then they would trade him then........san diego is a really good spot for leake...at this time...and cuz of the value
that a trade with san diego could bring..i would consider it....but i would not trade leake..for just anything
it is a big..FAT..maybe

leblanc.....LHP...he is a wily vet...nice to have him aboard...and he could always come out of the pen

ramirez./hernandez....RHP......they need to trade one of these guys........or both...if they get the right stuff
we dont even know if a hernandez trade is possible..and other teams may want to see him out of the pen as well
before making a trade for him.....everyone pretty much knows ramirez though...so they know what they are gitting
he is a free agent in 2020...so this upcoming year would be his last one..same as felix

elias.....LHp..bull pen spot start.......i dont think..they are trying to trade him...he fits in right where he is

this is more of part of the problem...at tacoma we have

whalen....that is it...right now no one else...and if they dont put him on the 40 man they wont have him either

at AA
povse..RHP...he could move up to tacoma...but unless he makes a big jump he is not ready for mlb till prob the next year
could be traded....i dont think they really want to..cuz he is good depth

the first problem is a #2 rhp...starter
and ..that is the second problem is..DEPTH..almost nothing at tacoma

at aa this comming year
McCoughan...RHP i cant see them not moving him up
LHP.................................................wells and garcia could fill in at times out of the pen...but they need one more
bannister...RHP...he is not ready for AAA
misiewicz...LHP...they cant afford to lose starters so they will have to put him on the 40 man
hutchison..RHP....or ljay newsome...give them both a shot....or send them down...is ok to play with the fifth guy
if he not doing well
so that is the depth they do not have.......but it is at AA lvl next year...that they will start to have some

AAA...better get some MILB free agents....quick

Spending it smarter is definitely the goal as a fan, just guess my issue would be whatever money they put into a veteran catcher could go to Cruz and then they can trade Healy. They need help but Jerry has put them in a bind where Lewis, White and probably Haniger have to go to get their prospect pool decent enough to field a team by 2020 that isn’t a highly paid 2014 Houston Astros.

I hear ya. There is no right answer or wrong answer probably at this point. This team is a mess and they insist on trying to put lipstick on a pig every year offseason.

In general the Mariners may not have the smartest fan base and that can be blamed on the on field product. However fans like us on this board aren't stupid enough to buy into this continue bullshit they sell every year. They can rebuild if they want to they just wont. The Tigers are the example I can bring up right now. They are stuck with Miggys contract and also Zimmermans contract. But that didn't stop them for recognizing who they were after being title contenders for 10+ years. They still sold Verlander, JD Martinez, Ian Kinsler, etc. Its never too late or too early to do the right thing.

I'm not expecting anything on that front. Its been a need for two years and hasnt been addressed. And now it appears the need is a 1 and not a 2. The guy you hoped to be a 1 just cant stay on the field.

the rebuild is almost finnished...with the exception of the rotation...and depth

they are one guy away in the......................................outfield..i like cordero...i had to say that ...lol
they are a utility/seager platoon guy away..on the......... infield
the bull pen is stacked
the catchers will do

the rotation is the last thing..and paxton and gonzales..are part of the new..so that would make two right handed young starters to go...yes...that is true

cruz and hernandez are /or maybe gone

which would make only cano and seager as parts of the old

idk on servais
