Don't think they will go into spring training with Segura and Gordon both still on the team. They won't trade Segura so Gordon is as good as gone.

I like both players but I also recall hearing they had beef.

I have to wonder if Gordon was a bit more banged up than we thought. His first and second half splits show quite a discrepancy.

First half: 87 G .283/.301/.346 22 SB 6 CS
Second half: 54 G .241/.265/.354 8 SB 6 CS

I know he got put on the DL for something and I can't recall what it is, but you can really see the slump in his numbers after he got put on the DL.

If you look at his stats from that perspective it appears whatever happened to him never completely healed that well:

March 29 - May 20: 45 games, .304/.330/.386 16 SB 2 CS

After returning from DL:

May 31 - Sept 29: 96 games, .250/.286/.331 14 SB 10 CS

You notice a serious discrepancy across almost all major statistical measurements. It's especially reflective in how much he 1. Attempted to steal and 2. How effective he was.

Broken Toe which can maybe explain the stolen base part of it but not other parts of his game. I wont rehash it again but if they were batting him 8th or 9th instead of 1st it would have helped.

Thoughts? Might as well keep Z. My Oh My...taking that long read on so many different options for the off season leaves me more dizzy than I usually am. LOL I guess I'd feel a whole lot better if I had some half ways decent confidence in Dipoto. He's a risk taker and a gambler no doubt, but I don't think he's vert good at either taking risks OR gambling. I don't see him taking the M's much farther than his 3 seasons have so far. It irritates the hell out of me that ownership (mainly Stanton) hired his ass in the first place and then he brings along his inexperienced side kick (Mr. nice guy) Servais.....and they both get contract extensions?? For fucks sake, that alone should tell us all about what/where this organization is (isn't) going in this life time. Hockey is where it's going to be for Seattle :thumb: Need NEW ownership for the M's b4 we get a sniff of post season play. 17 years of the same old shit with slightly different smells each year. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out THIS organization wants money.....not a winning team. Smoke n' Mirrors and Bobbleheads is getting really old don't ya think?
GO MARINERS...…:hellno:

lol- you should be working for the M's organization as a "scout". You probably know more about what's out there than anyone else on their payroll. :pound:
