Jeff Fisher said trading Bradford isn't an option, and they'd be willing to trade the #2 pick. That could create a feeding frenzy for RG3
Smart man!
Smart man!
I'm not so sure. We'll see this year.
...actually I'd give him a pass for at least the first half of this year.
just asking...........not so sure the Rams are smart trading down because................? or is it not so sure the Rams are smart holding onto Bradford?
if its about trading down, the Rams would be going down from #2 to #4, i'd think they'll be an 'elite' prospect at #4? with so many needs, they're not focusing on a position.
if its about Bradford, tough call to make whether he's worth his contract or not? i'm sure his cap hit affects their ability to trade him too?
The only reason I'm against this (and I brought it up last year with talk of moving down from 7 to about 9 or 10) is that you are letting other teams dictate who you take.
This year, the Rams clearly aren't looking at RG3. They'd be choosing (likely) between Blackmon and Kalil.
The theory in support of the trade is that because they move down to 4 so Cleveland can get Griffin is that one of Blackmon or Kalil will be there at 4.
My reason for not doing it is you are letting the Vikings (or whoever picks 3rd) determine who you pick. There's of course a chance they take Claiborne and you still have the choice, but you're giving up the choice to "settle" for whoever falls to you at 4.
Moving from 2 to 4, with Griffin on the board, may be worthwhile because you could get a king's ransom for the pick (multiple firsts and other mid round picks). But when you get outside the top 5 the return, to me, is not worth the risk of moving down 2 spots.
But in this particular case the Rams would be crazy not to move down. Maybe they have other guys valued higher? Obviously the goal should be to try and trade it to the Brows so they can get ahold of Kalil or Blackmon, but they do have Saffold and they just spent their second over all pick on Jason Smith a few years ago. I think the value in this years draft actually ranges from the bottom of the first round to the late 2nd round. They have multiple holes and can use a lot of different guys in this draft class.
