His innings has nothing to do with it being an experiment. We brought him in to see if he can compete for a job. To me that's an experiment. I guess our definitions differ.

Well Joe just gave up a tatter, so perhaps "the experiment" is failing. At least for the day.

Paraphrasing a few tweets I've seen today...

* Moreland doubled up on 1st base on fly ball to outfield.

* Moreland E-9 dropped fly ball in outfield.

* Profar left 1st too early...caught stealing.

* Saunders 2-run 1st inning included an infield RBI that would have been an out in the regular season.

Doesn't sound like things are going so great today.

What an astute observation there Mr Watson. :suds:

I am going to do you all a favor and quit posting for the day and maybe just watch some netflix. I feel like I have been pretty reasonable with most of my posts today but many of them are being met somewhat negative responses and I don't want to bring people down or derail the board any further.

I am currently in an OR waiting room at UT Southwestern waiting on my mom to finish a serious 4 hr neck surgery. So, perhaps I am extra sensitive/stressed right now and reading to far into things.

Hop you all have a great afternoon.

You're always passive aggressive, taking a day off won't fix that, you bait, nit and pick at people and then try to play the innocent victim when they lash back at your BS

Glad I'm not the only one that see it now

But best of luck to your mother, and as Donaldson says, you seem to have bigger priorities than getting into with any of us over trivial ST happenings

One day does not an "experiment" make

If Saunders is an experiment, based on the definition above, then about 90% is going through some sort of experimentation right now

And the Hanson "experiment" isn't going so well today either.

Exactly.....I just don't see Saunders being an experiment due to his previous and recent success at the ML level.

Now, Hanson on the other hand is due to his lack of any recent results.

Shoot man, we are in mid season form on the base paths.

Plus it is his first game action of the year. He is a little behind the 8-ball right now.

Not too excited about how much Moreland has been playing in RF. I am sure they are trying to get him as much work out there as possible in case they want to shift some DH responsibilities around. But he has no foot speed.

Kidding aside, Hanson had a rather nice outing. We need all the arms we can get.

Who said one day? All I said was I don't think it's going to work out. Yes, today was part of the experiment, and it didn't go well. It didn't go well last year. I just hope he has to earn it, and isn't handed the 5th spot like I've read and heard.

Moreland had a great spring last year, and then stunk it up when the year started. Maybe it will happen in reverse this year.

He has no business being in the OF either.

Unfortunately he is considered a part time OF. How much is YTBD. But this is what ST is all about.

And I hope you're right about the role reversal from last year to 2014.

The Rangers have tied it up at 5-5 with Adduci and Chirinos leading the way.

A bit of trivia for those too young to remember... Bob Watson (mentioned in Xx srs bsns xX's link) scored the 1,000,000th run in MLB history.

.....Don't think I ever heard this before......thanks

He was a pretty good ball player too with a LT avg around .300.

Choice w/ the go-ahead single. Choice and Adduci playing very well. E. Beltre....not so much. he might truly be out of options here.
