Thanks BMurph. Any news that doesn't involve an injury is good news.
No kidding, and I second that thank you Bmurph

I agree. If he stays relatively healthy he'll earn his 8M. He'll be able to do damage in Camden. He's got Adam Jones to help him make up some ground in left-center.
He will do some damage on offense as he will be playing in a park that should be comfortable to him. And I will miss his power and RBIs for us. But playing a few games and playing everyday in LF is another story. When you combine that plus the fact it is in a ballpark that is new to him it could be interesting. But you are right, he will earn his 8M. That is a bargain.
Good info JTA. Hopes that helps why we did not chase him harder. Sure opened my eyes.Keep in mind, only twice in his career has Nelson Cruz been worth over 8 million in a given season (2009 & 2010), its mostly due to injuries and slipping defensive play in recent years
He WAS on his way last year but then was suspended
Funny thing about him wanting 5/75 million is that he's put up 59.2 million in value over his 5 full seasons with the Rangers (I'll even add in his highly successful 31 game cup of coffee at the end of 2008)

Orioles got him cheap and for a short contract, best thing for them
Thanks Scotty.Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News hears that the Rangers aren't pursuing Ervin Santana (Twitter link). A recent report named Texas as one of three clubs with strong interest in the hurler.

Crap, if Evan Grant says they aren't that means they probably are.
If we get bad news back tomorrow on Harrison I think we will be interested. We should be.
I disagree.
SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Texas Rangers pitcher Matt Harrison is encouraged by how his back feels, but does not expect to be ready for the first series of the regular season against the Philadelphia Phillies.
"I'm probably 10 days behind," Harrison said. "Hopefully, I can get back for the second or third series of the year."
That's fine. I hate the thought of relying on Perez and Ogando as our 2/3, and praying another injury doesn't happen. I love Ogando as a starter, but we know he won't hold up.

you're not allowed to doubt
Rub some cream on that butt hurt buddy.
No we don't.
has Ogando ever held up as a starter? you can refuse to acknowledge that he has broken down every time we have tried to use him as a starter but we know he has.
