I'm sure you have but didn't you have Tepesch as who you thought would win the 5 spot when I did that survey way back when?

So did I and I think he will be a good bottom of the rotation pitcher. But at least he got 1 out of 2 right for now because I sure did not see Ross doing this well.

Only reason I didn't say Ross is b/c they seem bound and determined to make him a reliever, has nothing to do with who is best and most deserving, b/c thats rarely the way it works it with this team

Yeah, that's true and Tep did have his moments last year not to mention they do seem more committed to making him a starter.

I agree, still a little work to be done though. The way we have been hit with injuries of late its still really nice to have him as an option.

Still time for me to be wrong about Ross though. You never know what they will decide. I can totally see them giving one of the vets at least one spot just to eat innings with more confidence but neither, as I mentioned earlier, are very exciting- funner to watch new guys break out.

One thing is certain. Ross and Scheppers have done all they can do. They've put a lot of pressure on Saunders and Hanson, who start the next 2 days I think.

Poreda pitched 2 scoreless innings today which could help Ross' chances. If he continues to pitch well he will probably be the other lefty in the pen if Ross goes to the rotation.

Yeah, could be. That is the one thing that might make them favor Scheppers over Ross- the need for a good lefty reliever.

Wish Saunders could take that role but he might not do well with it... Oswalt seems to do well as a reliever. I sort of think Saunders will make the rotation though- I like him more than Hanson at least.

I will say this much, I really felt like I had a handle on who the rotation would be before ST and now there really is only 2 guys I am certain of. And two guys I am really rooting for. Wish Ogando could work out of his funk as well but I think he has had Springs like this in the past so, there is hope.

I'm actually sort of concerned about Choo. I know its only ST but he really hasn't been too impressive so far and the pitching he is facing now isn't as good as who he will be facing. I think the AL West has some of the best pitching overall.

Hopefully he is just getting a slump out of the way in ST. History he has been a pretty good OBP guy so that should continue. Don't see him putting up those same numbers as last season in the AL West though. Would love to be surprised by it though.

I'm also just going to go out there and make the call that Cruz is going to have a career season with the O's this year. Not that he has had a particularly outstanding spring or anything... it would just be our luck. It doesn't look like he has homered all Spring and has only knocked in 4.

Guys like Choo don't really need to hit for average..... We can count on him to set the tone, have a good at-bat, and get on base.

Good news....almost all of the remaining games are televised.
TXA-21 and MLB Network tomorrow.

That is only a good deal if you live in the Metroplex. If you live outside of TXA21 local service area ... and TXA21 is not picked up by cable or satellite service ... the game is blocked out. MLB Network carries the game outside the TEX franchise area ... which is all of TEX, all of OK, all of AR, all of LA and eastern half of NM. So Lainey can watch on MLB up north ... but Romeo in OK and me in AR can't.

For me the idea of a Darvish -- Perez -- Ogando -- Ross -- Scheppers rotation is earth shaking.

While Darvish has to be considered a FA acquisition ... but to consider the other four were developed inside the TEX system is extraordinary. Add to that Holland was, Harrison was above A+, Tepesch is, Luke Jackson is, Alex Gonzalez is ...

When there is a boulevard-wide stream of talent in your system you become TBR-like insulated from the ills of the FA SP market.

That means I'm going to be missing a lot of Friday games unless I go to a restaurant or bar to watch.

Wasn't the plan that they would decide their rotation by the 20th? Must be having a hard time with it.

Putting a timeline on it like that was just stupid. Typical wash move.

It will be interesting to see what all transpires and Feliz had better not be the closer. Right now he wouldn't be my set up guy either.
