It will be interesting to see what all transpires and Feliz had better not be the closer. Right now he wouldn't be my set up guy either.
Should see him in AAA before long. He needs lots of work if he is to return to closer if he ever does.

Question is, when Feliz doesn't get the closer role will he pout and bring it to the mound with him?

I predicted Ross would be starting, but it would be in AAA. He seemed really determined to get a real opportunity, and damn if he hasn't proven some of us wrong.

I'm wondering now if Ogando doesn't have to go back to the pen and maybe put Feliz on the DL to start the year.

Didn't see the previous posts before I sent this one.

Great call imo. Now, will Ross get in the rotation as well?

I'm hoping he does. There are 2 spots for 3 people. Saunders, Hanson, Ross.

That said, What does the bullpen look like now?

Frasor, Ogando, Soria, Cotts......... needing 3 others. (if hanson doesnt make the rotation, I see him as the long man) So 2 others then...

Does Font make the team? Tolleson?

Don't forget Lewis too. He seems to be well on his way, though a couple weeks behind.

Tolleson certainly has a claim for a bull pen spot if Ross gets a rotation spot we'll need another lefty, and Poreda has looked good.

Good for scheppers, he earned it, good call by the organization, now he has to keep it.. I'll admit I was wrong on him making it as a starter to this point

You might see Ross in aaa for the sole purpose of building himself up and working on all his pitches, first of Saunders or Hanson to fail, Ross might replace them, or even Harrison

Interesting dilemma not necessarily great for the ML team now, but within the year it could be a great problem to have

During the season TXA21 is on DirectTV channel 675-1 just like normal. It's just during ST that the cable and satellite providers don't pick up their games.

My cable company doesnt carry alternate channels. Just switched this winter. I lose ranger games on Fridays, but at least I won't lose my signal anytime a bird farts on my satellite dish now.

Didn't even see your post, but this is absolutely correct.

This makes me very happy. Long ago I kept pitching the need to internally develop your talent ... especially pitching ... rather than going for FAs or high end trades. When guys in the system keep seeing the team go out and acquire talent above them it is depressing and they start looking for opportunities to play elsewhere.

That was before JD and Nolan got here ... and JD has always been slow to give up pitching unless it was absolutely necessary. Scheppers getting a rotation spot ... and perhaps Ross too ... scores lots of points with the guys still fighting it out at A+ and AA that perhaps they do have the chance to make it in the TEX system. Luke Jackson and Chi Chi Gonzalez next.

Me too. I'm still not sure about how confident I am in his consistency but he earned it.

We've always been in agreement on this aspect

Biggest problem with this team now is the trading of prospects to fill immediate holes bc we are contenders now, some work (Lee) some don't (Garza)

I think jd does a pretty good job of balancing both... if only we could get to the level of st louis

If you buy MLB.tv you will get all the games and you can watch the A's, Angels, or both lose while watching the Rangers win. I watch the rivals games on the computer with the Rangers on the TV.
