He could at one time, might be one of those weird fluky quirks, and the results of changing his approach after switching from starting to relieving, can't say for sure

Funny how we said he had a bad year, but most of his peripherals were better than his first year, Ks were up BBs down, BABIP was .326 (.438 vs LHH!) vs .274 probably had something to do with his "regression"

FIP & xFIP were better as well

He also seemed to wear down the last two years. His first half splits from both years were much better I believe. Might be wrong about that though.

Hopefully we don't need him to start in the 2nd half if Holland comes back

You are correct. His 1st half is much better as he seems to hit a wall. In 2012 his 1st half was great going 6-0 with a 0.95 era. He pitched something like 59 innings but the 2nd half just 17 and his era rose to 5.60.

The jury is still out on Harry and Derek and we do not know if and when either will be available. So Ogando is the man for now, good or not, has a very good bull pen at his back. We have no choice but to go with him and hope he gets it done.

You and others on this post may be right as far as Ogando starting. And he is a good pitcher. My concern with him is his pitching mechanics put so much pressure on his arm I feel he is a DL waiting to happen. But I am hoping that will not be the case this year.

I share the same concerns b/c it's happened before. Just hope he can get us thru til the cavalry arrives.

I said going into ST Harrison was a slow go, if at all. Now who knows with Derek? Can he come back in the 2nd half and be any kind of factor? Jury is out.

Now we've got to hope for the best from some guys who are iffy for various reasons; Lewis, Ogando and Tepesch.

Not exactly where I wanted us to be at the junction, but it is what it is, and we'll just have to deal with it.

Right there with you. Go with what you have and depend on our relievers. We are strong in that dept.

That's every pitcher though,

Feliz has smooth mechanics and still blew out his elbow

and then you have guys like Weaver who are all over the place and the only elbow/shoulder issue I've ever heard of him having is when he slipped and broke the bone in elbow last year against us

It sure looks like the plan all along was from within.
Crazy I know but don't rule out Jose Contreras just yet

Harrison's MRI shows no major damage.

He's great at being pessimistic but never at offering suggestions

every time i make a suggestion you go bonkers so why should i bother? you're satisfied with Tepesch, Lewis, Hanson & possible Ross so any opinion expressed by me that doesn't goosestep to your tune receives nothing but ridicule so let's go into the season with them and see what happens.
