5:15PM: “It’s coming down, now it’s…I guess prior to the Olympic break he went down to six-years and said, ‘okay I will do six,’ but the number was still closer to $7 million. In the last number of days his reps have spoken to the Rangers and now it’s six-years, somewhere south of $6.5 million per year. The Rangers are offering six-years at $6 million. Can they both be unhappily happy at six-years and $6.25 and I am not sure that the answer to that is yes. I think the Rangers feel that he is their captain, they don’t want to lose him but this is still $500,000 more than we think we should be paying him.” (Bob McKenzie on TSN 1050)

Things are getting ugly. I have no idea when this will be resolved.

What time is the deadline on Wednesday?

3 PM Eastern.

Edit: Due to volume, trades often filter in to the league office after the deadline (or when Dale Tallon's fax machine breaks down).

Hey Cobie, who would you be willing to part with on the Kings to bring Kesler to LA?

I don't want the Kings to get Kesler - they don't need him - even though they need more scoring, he's not the guy I'd be looking for

Smfh why would the Kings trade for both of them, they'd give up all their prospects in order to make that work

Apparently the Pens are in (along with every contender) on McDonald. Interesting.

@TheFourthPeriod 3m
As @RobRossi_Trib reports, Penguins willing to go all-in on Kesler. I'm told Pens are def pressing & Kesler would waive NTC if deal is done

Just don't get it. I dunno. Well, it'd be good for future, so that's good. Once again, just dunno about it.

Let me rephrase my "all-in" comment... The Penguins are willing to pay a hefty price for Kesler. I do not expect PIT to deal Maata.

Exhales.

That would be dumb for the Leafs, giving up a young stud d-man like Morgan Rielly - I wouldn't do it if I was them

Plus Kesler doesn't want to play in Canada any more.
