I just don't want the Kings to be the type of team to trade for rentals like that, over and over again - I want them to evolve and use these young guys more, give them every opportunity, because it's obvious some of their depth players can't score at all

Well for all you know, they could have negotiated with him on a deal upon completing a trade for him.

yeah, that's seems like a pretty clear win

that makes no sense that they would turn it down unless Colorado said take back X% of salary and it just wasnt worth it?

Did Colorado offer this to Montreal? - because this move has Greg Sherman written all over it.

If you ask me, Rene Bourque belongs in Dallas

Or Phoenix (they're collecting a bunch of guys that I don't like as well).

Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin turned down a trade offer from the Colorado Avalanche that would have seen forwards Rene Bourque and P.A. Parenteau exchange sweaters, QMI Agency has learned.

Negotiations between the teams, however, are ongoing.

Avs right wing Parenteau, 30, and Habs left wing Bourque, 32, are under contract through the 2015-16 season.

Parenteau comes with a salary cap hit of $4 million compared to Bourque’s $3.3 million.

Parenteau has nine goals and 17 assists in 41 games this season. Bourque has seven goals and one assist in 39 games.

Oilers have won two in a row, the ship has been righted and they're back on course. No glaring needs at this time.

*whew* Jack Johnson is relieved.

We are free to return to the "Jack Johnson to Pittsburgh because BFFs" rumour.
