Mets get 2 on (Pillar & Villar) after 2 were out...but then McCann (who I'm starting to thing is pretty much worthless) goes after the 1st pitch he sees and grounds out.

2-2 tie heading to the bottom of the 9th.
Miguel Castro coming in for NY.

C'mon guys....FFS...please get it together.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think this one will end well for the orange and blue crew.

Castro leaves with the bases loaded and only 1 out.

Aaron Loup coming in....

Also.....that place has no business being a MLB venue.

Mets drop the opener 3-2.

Trainer's room:
Mets OF Brandon Nimmo (left finger contusion) had a setback in his last at-bat Thursday with Triple-A Syracuse.
Manager Luis Rojas said the outfielder will get more treatment Friday before likely resuming his rehab stint Saturday.
3B J.D. Davis (left hand sprain) could be activated as early as Saturday.

Up next:
The teams continue their three-game series Saturday with LHP Shane McClanahan (0-0, 3.75 ERA) starting for the Rays.
The Mets starter is TBD, but could likely send LHP Joey Lucchesi (1-2, 7.70 ERA) to the mound.

Luchessi sucks. Need Carrasco and Thor back asap.

Yep....Rojas' stupid BP day really backfired horribly today.

We also need Lugo back asap.
I think he's a lot closer to returning than Thor & C.C.

I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention Familia sucks too.

Silver lining from Saturday..Philly, Miami & Wash. all lost on Saturday..but Atlanta (our next stop on Monday) managed to win.

5/16
Can the Mets salvage one game against the Rays on Sunday for some much needed momentum before heading there??

Mets down 5-1 after 6...(Patrick Mazeika hit a solo HR)

Sheeeesh...
New season...same old story....training staff and medical crew are inept.
McNeil hurt....Conforto hurt.....McCann't is a bust. Lindor hasn't arrived yet.
Half of the rotation doesn't get run support....the other half is on the IL.....The BP has issues.
Pete's homecoming has been a huge disappointment.

It is what it is.

I'm just gonna devote more of my attention on the Knicks for the time being.

Another *silver lining day after today's Mets 7-1 loss....and getting swept. (And I will maintain that alleged "ball park" the Rays call home is a poorly lit dump, and has no business being open for a MLB team in 2021. I mean, what is this...1972??

*The Phils & Braves both lost too. *Amazingly, the Mets are still in 1st place in the NL east, but by the slimmest of margins.

Trainer's room:
Mets RHP Jacob deGrom (right side tightness) hopes to throw a bullpen session Tuesday before the Mets determine when he can return to the rotation. ... OF Brandon Nimmo (left index finger bone bruise) will travel with the team to Atlanta but will not play until he can swing pain-free.

Up next:
Mets RHP Taijuan Walker (3-1, 2.20) will face the Braves LHP Max Fried (1-1, 6.55) in the opener of a three-game series in Atlanta on Monday night.

The Mets visit Atlanta for 3 against the Braves.

I wonder how many more key Mets players will land on the IL during this series?
I shudder to think.

The list was already big, and seems to be growing almost daily now....

Noah Syndergaard: (elbow), Seth Lugo: (elbow), Jacob deGrom: (right side), Carlos Carrasco: (hamstring), Dellin Betances: (right shoulder), Brandon Nimmo: (finger), Michael Conforto: (hamstring), Albert Almora Jr.: (shoulder), Jeff McNeil: (hamstring), Jose Martinez: (knee), Luis Guillorme: (oblique), J.D. Davis: (hand).
