Mets begin a tough 11 game trip starting tonight in Atlanta for 3.
This could be the stretch that breaks the proverbial camel's back..and lands Callaway back on the hot seat.
They might end up being sellers instead of buyers by the time the all-star break rolls around in a few short weeks.

Hey, Brodie...it's true, results do matter....and as a Mets fan, I say wins matter even more right now. Unfortunately, right now we're not getting either with much consistency to speak off.

This team seems hell bent on being overly generous to other teams...while continually shooting themselves in the foot and digging deep/deeper holes with their piss poor play..whether it's at the plate, running the bases, on the mound, or in the field.

It's not much fun watching this kind of baseball.

Mets were down 2-0 after 1, but tied it 2-2 in the top of the 5th. Then of course Wheeler implodes and gave up 3 in the bottom 5th.
Mets scored 1 in the 6th to make it a 5-3 game.

It's now in a rain delay in the bottom of the 6th.

They should just call it now.

Braves 5 - Mets 3.

If he wants to keep starting Cano..he needs to move him down in the order imho.
Hechevarria should be at 2B, batting 2nd..with Pete in the 3 hole.
McNeil could also play 2B and hit 3rd, with either Davis, Smith or Gomez in LF.

Callaway might be a dead man walking at this point.
We'll see what happens and where things sit by the time they leave Atlanta and arrive in Chicago and then Philly.

BULLPEN SHAKEUP....
The Mets shook up their bullpen before the game, placing Jeurys Familia (7.81 ERA) on the 10-day injured list and optioning Drew Gagnon (7.65) to Triple-A Syracuse. Right-hander Stephen Nogosek and lefty Daniel Zamora got the call from the minors.

TRAINER'S ROOM....
Mets: LHP Justin Wilson was scratched from his rehab appearance at Triple-A Syracuse because of tightness in his elbow. Wilson was 1-1 with 4.82 ERA in 10 appearances for the Mets before he went on the injured list with left elbow soreness. ... Familia was placed on the IL with a bone spur in his pitching shoulder after giving up three runs and recording only one out in Monday's loss.

Mets LHP Steven Matz (5-4, 3.93) faces Atlanta LHP Max Fried (7-3, 4.11 ERA) in Wednesday's rubber game.

Rosario got thrown out at 3rd for out #3 trying to stretch it after he knocked Ramos in.

Well Matz dodged a couple of bullets in this one....but he's now out of luck and out of gas...as he just gave up a leadoff single and a 2 run HR & then b2b doubles...to give the braves a 5-2 lead in the 6th. Still no outs and he's at 100 pitches.

newly recalled Chris Flexen takes over for Matz.
It's as if Mickey is waving the white flag now...but I hope I'm wrong.
