It won't matter that the Mets had the bases loaded with only 1 out but couldn't score in the 1st after giving up 2 runs in the top half, because Matz will probably end up getting shellacked by the 4th or 5th anyhow, and then the BP will do their routine bed crapping...which means they'll lose this game and likely get swept tomorrow even with Thor's return.


2-0 Braves mid 2nd.

With 2 outs in the 2nd the Mets had the bases loaded again...on a Matz single, and then McNeil & Alonso were both HBP.

Cano had a chance to step up, but he swung and missed a 2-2 pitch low & outside for the 3rd out.

Just friggin awesome.

Mets trail 3-1 heading to the 4th.

Cano just hit a 2 out rbi single to give the Mets a 4-3 lead in the 6th.

I like what I've seen from Chris Mazza today in his big league debut. He came in and held down the fort for 4 solid innings against a pretty tough lineup.

Shutdown innings are always a good idea after your team just scored to take the lead.

He allows a 2 out double but got Freddie swinging on a wicked cutting fastball for the 3rd out.

4-3 Mets at the stretch.

Lugo gives up a 1 out solo HR on a 3-0 pitch in the 8th to tie the game, and then the very next pitch also leaves the yard.



Mets down 5-4.

The Mets are either tipping pitches or their signs are being stolen.

Maybe both?

I wonder what the Mickey "the pitching guru" Callaway thinks about that??

They did manage to get the tying & winning runs on base in the 9th, but failure ensued.

They lost 5-4.

They're now 10 games below .500
