Didn't age well, Shane.
Sure, I could find a ton of comments from everyone on topics. Just like you said you wanted the Raiders to trade Carr LOL

Perfectly fine with an upgrade

NFLPA is figuring it will be on the lighter side and want to head off Goodell making it harsher.

If it’s 8 games or less, what the judge (ex-judge) says in her decision will matter. If it’s a year or more the rationale won’t matter so much.

NFLPA saying they won't appeal is of little importance , other then a little PR push to have the NFL not appeal. What will the NFL do? Accept or appeal to Goodell? NFL wanted an indefinite suspension, think they may have settled for a full year suspension....maybe. Less then a year I think the NFL appeals to Goodell and goes for indefinite suspension once again just IMO of course.

Looks like we'll have a decision soon, most likely Monday.
Don't get your hopes up that a ruling ends this on Monday because I think it's better then 50/50 this ruling gets appealed ( unless it favors the NFL)

I haven't been following this too much and sure as hell will not be reading 93 pages of discussion so sorry if this seems a lazy question from me because it is. Here goes tho, do you guys think Watson will be suspended and if so, for how long?

Yes. Minimum 6 games. Who knows what the actual number of games will be though. Most seem to be thinking a full year or more. My guess is 8 games but I wouldn’t be shocked by 6. If it’s 6 I think the NFL appeals for sure. If it’s 8 I’m not sure what they will do. If it’s 10 or more I don’t think they’ll appeal. All that being said IMO he deserves a minImum of a year and jail time but I don’t think he’s going to get it.

Doesn't that mean that Watson is definitely going to be suspended? My understanding is that the NFL can't appeal if the judge says no suspension. Presumably the NFLPA have been told this is going to be a short suspension. There's no way they'd take this stance if a multi-year suspension was still on the table. meh. More 'reading between the lines' BS on my part.

I'm not a fan of suspending people for 'conduct' or having a court of public opinion, but if the NFL is going to operate that way this case ought to result in a longer suspension than someone caught for using PEDs.

“Integrity of the game” violations are always dealt with more harshly. Calvin Ridley for example.

I'd say it depends on how many games he's suspended. Less than 6 I'd say they for sure appeal but they might stand pat on 6 and over.

All the NFL cares about is making sure they at least look like they were trying to punish harshly so they'd welcome the judge deciding to suspend Watson enough games to keep a lot of the heat off of them so they claim they wanted more but they need to respect the decision of the judge.

If the judge goes too low they'd likely appeal and tack on a couple more games to whatever the judge decided to save face.

As much as the NFLPA and NFL appear to be at each other's throats I do believe a lot of winking and nodding is going on between the two in this case because they both know each side needs to do this dance to keep up appearances.
