The Braves have been fun to watch since 1991. They have been one of the most consistent winners in baseball.

Yep, this year’s team is especially fun though. Such a terrific lineup from top to bottom. They have to be the favorites to win the World Series right now, the bullpen is a bit of a concern but they have the best roster in MLB.

Phillies finally moved Trea Turner down in the order. He hit 7 last night instead of 2. The problem is that Thompson moved Castellanos into the 2 hole and he was dreadful. Castellanos has been slumping in July. Castellanos came into July hitting at .308. His average now is down to .274

Any team that has players like Ronald Acuna, Ozzie Albies and Austin Riley on their team is going to be a lot of fun to watch. They are never out of a game as long as those guys have at bats left.

They also seem to have a knack for hitting in the late innings and in the clutch as well. I think the only hole they have is in their pitching. The bullpen is pedestrian and their starters are really banged up. They have organizational depth that is the envy of many but it seems like their young arms may hit a wall with innings.

The Mets don’t have a chance at the playoffs this year IMO, they are 6 games under 500 in a very tough division, so I think it makes sense for them to start rebuilding.

Phillies play garbage baseball in Pittsburgh and drop 2 of 3. Thompson throws out a garbage lineup and then pulls Sanchez at 73 pitches having given up no hits.

I'm good with the Scherzer trade. He's been so inconsistent and can't go deep in games. This season is shot but the young guys are all promising so we have our core, we can outspend anybody for free agents (come on Ohtani) and adding some badly needed depth to our top heavy farm should help facilitate some trades down the road.

It still amazes me that this team is in the thick of it. If you told me before the season though that you would get huge steps forward from Stott, Bohm, and Marsh, I would have said the Phillies would win 100-105 games. I just hope that the penance we are paying with so many big name guys underperforming results in them all getting hot in mid September and riding that through to the World Series.

The Phillies worry me more when they play sub .500 teams. They seem to really play down to the competition.
