Good god. Nola immediately gives up a bomb to fucking Kwan
All season long Nola and the long ball. He gave up last season’s HR total 2 starts ago. He’s been a shadow of himself. And it always seems to be 0-2 or 1-2 with him leaving a ball out over the plate.

I have no idea how the Phillies are even a factor this year. If you stack up guys who they are getting lesser production than expected it looks like an All Star roster:
Schwarber hitting .185
Turner hitting .245
Realmuto hitting .245
Harper reduced season off Tommy John, power numbers way down.
Nola has been a shell of himself
Wheeler has been inconsistent
Seranthony Dominguez has been ineffective and hurt
Alvarado has been banged up
And before the season even started they lost Rhys Hoskins at 1B and their only reliable RH bat with pop.

Marlins finally snap their losing streak as Arraez gets a walk off hit in the 10th.

Bravos take 2 of 3 in Milwaukee, with Albies hitting an opposite field bomb in the 8th to give them the lead today.

Bryce was so due for a homer. Took him at +500. Cash.
Last night shows why I’m irate with Trea Turner. Athletes struggle from time to time. Slumps in baseball are a very real thing. Adjusting to a new club and a new city is real. Harper and Castellanos had tough transitions year 1 in Philly. What’s unacceptable is him purposefully getting thrown out on Monday night because he was selfish and frustrated. His replacement comes up in a big spot in a tight game and fails in that spot. The game ain’t over until there’s 27 outs. Fuck Trea Turner.

Spencer Strider is the greatest 3.75 ERA pitcher of all time.

He just absolutely dominates hitters for 85% of games but it seems like every single time I watch him he runs into trouble at some point. Whether its one random big inning. Or a couple late solo homers tonight(for still a good line) or the massive 7th inning implosing vs Az last week.

Seems like at some point it always falls off the track a bit.

Turner's got some real contact issues right now. His SwStr% has skyrocketed in the past few years, going from 10.2% in 2021 to 15.1%... which is rather high. Contact rate has dipped down to just 71.4% as well

also swinging at 39.5% of pitches outside of the zone. was 30.7% just two years ago

those are some worrisome trends

I have to say, I absolutely love your takes on baseball. You’re a very good poster on this sport. Strider is a shit ton of nasty stuff and that always shows up. What he needs now is that knowledge you only gain from experience. He needs to learn how to actually “pitch”. And that will come. Hoping to have the same problem with Andrew Painter when he comes back from Tommy John in 2025.

This is good shit. I don’t go that deep but watching him, this really hits the mark. I’m seeing him very susceptible to the slider that breaks away from the right handed hitter. He can’t lay off of it.

Phil’s in Pittsburgh tonight.

Trea Turner at 6 pm “Well, at least I won’t get booed tonight.”
Trea Turner at 7:15 pm “Mother Fucker! Half this stadium is Phillies fans!”

Riley and Olson with back to back homers as the Bravos are starting to pull away from the Brewers tonight!! This Braves team is fun to watch.

this team also likes getting their ass hammered by guys?

Matty Stairs! Haha. Maybe that phrasing hits differently in Canada? I don’t know…I got nothing. But dude is a good pull for immaculate grid. Played for 12 different teams!

The Braves have been fun to watch since 1991. They have been one of the most consistent winners in baseball.
