Most of the physical has been completed, concentrating on the ankle. It appears the team Drs will sign off on the deal. With the vesting options later in the deal, it should be a safe bet.BREAKING: Shortstop Carlos Correa and the Minnesota Twins are finalizing a six-year, $200 million contract, sources tell ESPN. even without Correa, ZiPS projects the Mets to be quite good.

other three aren't out yet
If Chisholm is the Marlins’ Thelonious Monk, the rest of the lineup is, well, your neighbor’s tone-deaf 10-year-old son who got a guitar for Christmas and suddenly discovered Korn.
crazy to think Ruf had a 143 OPS+ just two years ago (granted it was 312 PA). He's hit lefties well but has historically struggled against righties (save for 2021, but he had a BABIP just south of .400 against them).
Maybe it's this and maybe it's not, some guys just don't acclimate to NY. Maybe the scrutiny gets to them, maybe they just don't like it here but we've watched countless guys over the years perform way below their career norms.
I know he hit a Ruff patch there with the Mets but I don't think he should be completely given up on after 65 ABs. Hopefully someone picks him up.Ehh, seems a lot more to me like a marginal player hitting way above his head in a smaller sample size. It's not that uncommon for career bench/utility players to hit well in a half season's worth of plate appearances. Mike Carp had a 139 OPS+ for the Sox in 2013 in 243 PA and he was out of the league two years later. Chris Colabello (who didn't even make his MLB debut until he was 29) had a 138 OPS+ for the Jays in 360 PA in 2015 and he was out of the league two years later. Marwin Gonzalez had a 146 OPS+ in 2017, and he has a career 94 OPS+.
Just not a lot of value to be had from a guy that's only playable against lefties and doesn't really have a true position (he's played some OF spots and 1B, but I wouldn't say he's played any of those well enough). I think the Mets are much better off giving those plate appearances to Baty or Vientos and find out whether or not they're important pieces going forward.
