Don't sell the Pirates short. They have a lot of talent on that team and they are doing most of this without Oneil Cruz.

Braves are a juggernaut that can’t be caught.
Everyone keeps waiting for the Marlins to fade but they aren’t cooperating.
Phil’s have found their stride in June
Mets are an unmitigated abortion

Phil’s have moved into 2nd place. They were 7 games under .500 on June 2nd but now 10 games over .500 on July 17th. If they were just a .500 team in April and May and not dog shit they might be within distance of the Braves. As it is now, I don’t think anyone is catching this Braves squad.

Crazy thing about the Phillies is that they’re not getting expected production from Turner, Realmuto, Harper, Wheeler, and Nola. Lost Hoskins for the season before it started. They’ve been carried by the “spare parts” like Bohm, Stott, and Marsh. Hopefully the big money guys in the 2nd half chase the back of the baseball card and get closer to their anticipated production.

My 2 favorite teams are in the NL East - The Braves and Marlins (yeah I know it’s odd but I’ve lived in both Atlanta and South Florida and so I root for both - Braves are my favorite though).

The Braves have a fantastic team this year and are the favorites to win the World Series right now IMO, their lineup is just fantastic. I hope the bullpen holds up, it could use some help.

The Marlins have played great this season but have now lost 6 in a row, and I’m afraid they are going into a free fall, they’ve overachieved somewhat so far, and while I really hope they make the playoffs (not counting the COVID year, they haven’t been since their World Series win in 2003), I’m starting to worry about the Fishies and I’m not sure if they hold up in the second half.

What’s up with Alcantara this year? I had read that he wasn’t the same guy. His number looked worse than usual in some areas but he still has a decent WHIP. Then I saw his Pre All Star break start against the Phillies and he looked really good that outing.

He entered the game with a much lower FIP to ERA so hes been a little unlucky. But still a 4 FIP entering today is not ideal.

Hes allowing a lot more hits this year. And still does not strike out enough guys. With his stuff hes got to find a way to put away more hitters.

I‘m sure he’ll be back in a month or so. I don’t think they should’ve sent him down, he’s arguably their best pitcher. Alcantara has sucked this year. Luzardo and Garrett have been solid though.

Bravos avoid the sweep and beat the D-Backs 7-5 today, Riley with the go ahead homer in the 8th and Olson with 2 homers. The Braves lineup is amazing.

The Marlins collapse continues, they’ve now lost 7 in a row, haven’t won since the All Star break. At this rate they are not going to make the playoffs, which is too bad, I would love to see them get there. Maybe they’ll turn things around but I don’t have confidence in them.

Braves up 6-2 on the Brewers, this Braves offense is just awesome to watch.

Marlins have now lost 8 in a row and are in a complete collapse. Disappointing but not that surprising, I didn’t think they would be able to continue to play at such a high level, they just aren’t consistent enough.

Austin Riley now has 6 homers in the past 5 games!! He’s on fire, and this Braves offense is unreal.

Hes either striking out or hitting into a DP everytime he comes up with guys on base this series. Guy is a disaster wtf.
This silly bitch can’t locate and Turner is swinging at ball four. Should be bases loaded now no out.
