Who do you guys like best for my next pick 7 picks out. I know at some point I have to take some RB's. But I really don't like any of the options overwhelmingly. RB's get 4 points every 5 rushing attempts, .5 per yard gained and 15 poitns per touchdown. WR's get .6 per yard gained 15 points per touchdown and we have 3.5 PPR.

Defensive scoring is as follows. 1/2 sack 5.5 points, INT 16.5 points, fumbled forced 10 points, assisted tackles 4.5 points, stuffs 9 points, fumble recovered 9 points, passes defended 8 points and tackles are 8.5 points.

The top options available from RB, WR

RB- Bush, Mathews, J Bell, Gore, MJD, Rice, Jennings, Tate, Richardson, Ridley, Vereen

WR- A Johnson, Decker, D Jax, Hilton, Fitzgerald, Cruz, Welker, Patterson, Hopkins, Austin

I'm leaning toward Tate, Cruz or one of the young WR's from last years rookies. On defense only David and Kuechly have gone. So I could draft Posluszny or Burfict.

Wow that's some odd scoring so I'm not sure how much I can help but .....
RB is an obvious need although the choices are limited, but they will only be more limited if you go in a different direction. With such a heavy ppr format, at RB I'd lean toward J. Bell, Rice, Jennings (in that order). At WR it looks to me like the best options (ppr) are Johnson, Fitz and Patterson.

As for the LB question, I think Poz has proven himself, although Burfict was a monster last year, so either way is not a bad choice. I'd look at it this way, Buffalo's offense will be bad again, so Poz will get lots of opportunities.

I'd be all over Vereen and Patterson for my next two.

That's very yards-heavy scoring (a 60-yard TD run will get you twice as many pts for the yards as for the TD!). Dynasty league? I'd take Hilton (better QB than Patterson will have). Obviously you'll be scrambling for RBs but it's a dynasty league and RB turnover is high. Joique might still be there for you next round. And maybe get somebody like Hyde soon after.

Odd indeed. I was told it was to even out the players. They have all played it before and i'm new to the group so it should be interesting. Last year J Bell was the 14th best RB. A Johnson was the 6th best WR. Antonio Brown was the #1 fantasy WR in this setup. L David was the 8th highest scoring player in the league and Poz was the 12th followed by Burfict as the 13th. So top IDP's outscored players like DT, Megatron, Dez, Graham, Luck and Stafford.

Yes it's dynasty league. Our rookie draft will be held after our vet draft. I hold the 6th pick. So it really depends on if guys hit the QB's hard due to superflex and I could see Hyde fall to me. If not I will be looking at Freeman. Though I have seen some drafts the last month that had Sankey fall down the board.

Multipliers vs. standard scoring:

TDs x 2.5
PPR x 3.5
Rushing yards x 5.0
Receiving yards x 6.0
Rushing yards w/per-carry bonus (at 4 ypc) x 7.0
Receiving yards w/PPR (at 7 ypc) x 11.0 !!!!

So the receivers are hugely valuable.

For RBs:
16 rushes for 64 yards + 2 catches for 14 yards = 60.2 pts
8 rushes for 32 yards + 6 catches for 42 yards = 68.6 pts

You definitely want receiving backs. Short-yardage backs are barely startable even if they get a TD every single game.

IDP - not my bag.

Updating my progress for any interested parties. Might bump up Vereen to my RB position depending on what I do with WR the rest of the way. Got my eye on Nuk, Crabtree and D Jax still. Rice would be a steal this late even if I think he's a pos. Just missed out on getting Cruz which sucked.

Why the hell did you get Russell so early, or keep him? He might not even end the season as a top 20 QB.

Well it's a superflex league that you play 2 QB's. Second he was the number 8 rated QB in this setup last year minus his primary game breaker in Harvin. So top 20 is laughable more than likely will be a top 5 QB.

I think top 5 is more laughable. But I guess the super flex position makes it more acceptable. I'm guessing everyone took QBs early?

I don't think he played over his head at all last year and was the 8th best QB in this setup. By saying he could be a top 5 QB he would just need to have 57 more points than he did last year. I think he should shatter that number with Harvin back.

As for the QB's yes 7 QB's went in the 1st round and 5 QB's went in the 2nd round. I like my chances if Cam and Wilson are both top 10 QB's again. To be honest i'm a little more worried about Cam than Wilson.

Love Vereen.

Who are you looking at now? Bernard Pierce available? I just don't see Rice coming back and being anything more thsn a 3rd down specialist. Though I know I'm on the minority there.

Totally open at this point. I wouldn't mind a 3rd QB options but the picking is slim. Down to the likes of Eli Manning, Geno Smith and EJ Manuel. At RB I could go with Knowshon Moreno, Frank Gore, Maurice Jones Drew, Ray Rice, Rashad Jennings, Steven Ridley as insurance at some point, Pierce is available but not high on him at all or Christine Michael and his hype train.

WR has a lot more options and I do need a 3rd starter. Eric Decker, DeSean Jackson, TY Hilton, Marques Colston, Wes Welker, Hakeem Nicks, Cecil Shorts, DeAndre Hopkins, Tavon Austin, Roddy White, Dwayne Bowe, Terrance Williams, Rueben Randle, Danny Amendola, Reggie Wayne, Jeremy Maclin and Michael Crabtree.

I should hop on the IDP train soon. I could stash a guy like Kiko or Bowman since all the other top choices have come off the board at LB.
