So he doesn't play well with others?

Again, there has to be a reason why KC simply let him walk away and appeared to not shed a tear. KC sports talk radio could not have cared less when EB left KC.

Combine that with the fact that he has interviewed over a dozen times for HC jobs and there might be something to this story.

This sounds similar to the TB mutiny against Greg schiano several years ago...but not to that extent obviously.

I don't think EB is our next HC and at this point, I don't want him to be.

I don't think EB gets this job. This is not a 4-8 roster. If the Skins simply beat the Bears, Tyrod and Devito they are 7-5 and in the thick of things. I'm almost positive EVERYONE is gone, maybe even Jason Wright.

I remember when eb got into it with mahomes a year or 2 ago. That was a red flag to me.

I think he has a lot of energy and can be overbearing. He needs to refine his approach if he is going to be a hc in the league.

He is certainly a polarizing figure on this board.

From having harris hire him immediately after the season ends to making him a co-GM...we have seen it all.

Polarizing for sure, but I do think he warrants a look. EB with a line, Howell with a year under his belt, and maybe Bowers could do some damage.

Do you guys think we would go for a defensive HC b/c of EB? Somebody like Dan Quinn the DC from Dallas and EB calls the plays on offense.

do you see this?

Quinn has had many opportunities to be head coach since being in Dallas and he's been very selective thus far.

I don't see it myself, other teams will also have cap space.

I've thought about that. New coaches usually want their guys in there. Guys they have a history with. Not sure.

What has EB done to merit sticking around here Dean?

You do realize we have the toughest part of our schedule coming up and we are averaging only a point and a half more under EB than Turner/Heincke.

I like EB but I don't understand the cult of personality surrounding him. We are 20th in offense currently with SF, MIA, and DAL still coming up.

I like EB but he isn't the best offensive mind the game and that has been proven. Building a coaching staff around EB is absurd unless he is the head coach.

I don't think Quinn would take a job knowing its a rebuilding gig. Just my opinion.

laugh if you must, but I'd be real interested in the just fired Panther coach before Buffalo loses another couple of games.

I think Bobby Slowik and Ben Johnson are the first candidates you look at...

However....

I trust that the GM will get the person he wants and has researched.

I dont know if this is a 4-8 roster or not.

On the one hand, you have parcells: “you are what your record says you are.”

On the other hand, the defense has regressed majorly from last year, and they were not bad last year.

Clearly the coaching staff isnt helping things. Nor are the free agent signings.
Nor are the draft picks, really.

Crowder being the best free agent pickup is a statement as to just how bady the players have performed / been coached: the skins already had TM, free agent signee Curtis Samuel, first rounder Dotson, 3rd year man Dyami Brown, and already signed pringle for depth.

Several players are on this roster that shouldnt be: mayo, milne, danny johnson, the oline backups, Charles, etc.

Since its hard to tell who is to blame, might as well get rid of as many as possible: that includes all front office and any complaining player. Like I’ve said before, the Commanders can suck with or without you.

that would be good for Dallas cause most all vacant jobs require rebuilding to some degree.
Well, we have the EB fanclub here so it is what it is.

I like EB...

However, I don't want him as a co-GM or for Harris to hire him in a knee jerk reaction move after the season is over as has been suggested.

I agree EB has not been fantastic and Howell has regressed. If Howell keeps regressing then i can see a total house cleaning, IF we are going to roll with Howell next year and he wants EB back as his o-coordinator that should be taken into consideration. Can Howell succeed in eb's offense in his 2nd year with a better oline?

What if Howell is one of the players who is complaining about EB?

Clearly there are offensive players who don't want EB here. Is that not a concern to you?

Do you personally think EB is better than Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik?

I think Howell can succeed in many different types of offenses. I just don't think EB is the savior of the franchise like some do on here.

Harris will hire the GM.
The GM will hire the coaches.
EB either gets a shot or he doesnt, depending on the GM.

That’s the professional way to go about this, and, I’m pretty sure that’s what Harris will do.
